Hunding Rage set tooltip is missleading.

Hunding rage 5 items set bonus says it buff WEAPON skills, instead it just buff any STAMINA based skill.
For example, non of Healing or Destro Stuff are getting buffed. They are weapons and have WEAPON skills, but this skills not getting buffed.
However skills like Silver bolt which is not related to any weapon but use stamina are beeing buffed.

because it buffs any stamina based weapon abilities. so what's a problem with that?
or you just unhappy that it doesn't buff Destro staff?))

It does not buff any weapon abilities. It should, it even says it does, but it does not. The 5 set is currently broken at the moment.

I would hope ZOS is aware of the issue already but if not, here is an explanation. I crafted new sets to make sure my numbers are exact and the controls are not messed with.

Bottom line: the 5 set reads (at VR 9 white quality) "Increases weapon damage by 18% when using weapon abilities". This reads to me that it increases the weapon abilities damage by 18% of the weapon's portion of the damage.

    Base Damage:

Completely ungeared (ie naked) my Executioner IV (two handed morph) deals 81 damage.

Gear: All gear listed is white, with no enchantments or traits, unless otherwise listed.

Level 13 vendor bought great sword (Green) = 40 damage.

    VR9 crafted great sword = 134 damage.

    VR9 crafted medium hunding's rage set (5 pieces) = 18% increase.

    Test:
Naked with green level 13 sword, Executioner does 106 damage. So far it can be noted that a about 62% of the weapon's damage is added to the skill's damage.

Naked with white VR9 sword, Executioner does 166 damage. It appears that this weapon added about 63% of the weapon's damage to the skill's damage. Pretty consistent.

5 Piece Hunding's Rage set equipped with green level 13 sword. Executioner tool tip still displays 106 damage. It appears that the set has 0 effect. Set is broken and useless. Should be around 110 damage if you count the set as only increasing the weapons portion of the effect. Would be around 125 if the set counted to the ability as a whole.

5 Piece Hunding's Rage set equipped with white VR9 sword. Executioner tool tip still displays 166 damage. It appears that the set has 0 effect. Set is broken and useless. Should be around 180 damage if you count the set as only increasing the weapons portion of the effect. Would be around 195 if the set counted to the ability as a whole.

Conclusion: a crafted 6 trait requirement, 5 set bonus, that can do nothing but help any type of weapon skill or stamina build, is 100% useless.

yeah, I heard it was broken but I heard it was fixed also.

By this logic, everything that says Spell Crit, Weapon Crit, Weapon Damage & Spell Damage is misleading. The bottom line is spell = magicka & weapon = stamina.
Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

The point is, that Destro and Healing Stuff is WEAPONS and their abilitys benefits from WEAPON damage (also from Magicka, but its not the point).
Therefore Hunding Rage suppose to buff Destro and Healing stuff skills. This however not happening.

Yes i was also very disappointing that it does not work with staffs.

Unless ZoS decides to change the way resources work it's very simple:

Stamina based = Weapon dmg/crit & Stamina pool
Magicka based = Spell dmg/crit & Magicka pool

Just because your wooden stick throws fireballs out of the tip doesn't make it a weapon that's effected by weapon damage increases, sorry.

The tooltips generally are very badly phrased - "slaughter" and "duel wield expert" - states "while duel wielding"; ruffian "while using duel wielding attacks." Are these two statements equivalent or is ruffian mean duel wielding skills and not equiped? Of course the other issue is if they are broken or not.

The logic in game is not like that at all.
As i already said Destro stuff damagin abilitys benefits from WEAPON damage, not SPELL damage, so your logic fails.

This needs fixed because this skill should NOT apply to Alliance War, PVP and Werewolf ability.

    Within; Without.

The same with any abilities i tried.

Used, executioner (two hand), carve (two hand), venom arrow (bow), lethal arrow (bow) and pierce armor (one hand and shield)

Edit: Ran 2 different combat log mods with the same results on both. The set appears to be adding about 5-7 damage to the abilities. Now mind you, this is with VR 9 gear and weapons. On a 134 damage great sword about 63% of the damage is used for the skills damage, with the 18% set bonus it should be using 81% if the weapons damage. With a weapon of that damage I should be seeing a 22-24 damage per hit increase. Not a 5-7.

If you start asking about armor of the target, i was hitting a level 40 troll in all my tests, and was giving about 80% of the damage that my tool tip was saying I should be, safe to assume that the troll has 20% physical damage reduction. Means i should have still seen a 18-20 damage increase, not a 5-7.

Remember, I am calculating this based on what the set bonus says it does "Increases weapon damage by 18% when using weapon abilities", I am only looking for an increase on the weapons damage portion of the weapon ability, not an increase on the entire ability.

then it seems completely broken. I'll try to check it later.

my opinion, it's not his logic fails. it's zos fail. I'm sure they've tried to do it so simple is it even can be. and as a result we have situation like this, when shock, ice and fire dmg from staffs (oh! and heals) count like weapon dmg but not a spells.
and I can understand your disappointment thou

If Hunding's Rage should impact these other skills, let the tooltip reflect it. Otherwise make it target only what it says it does. I don't really care if this set uber-powers all of your skill lines.

I just want it read correctly in game.

    Within; Without.

Show us absolute proof that any ABILITY from the Destro staff tree scales from Weapon Damage and not Spell Damage. Abilities are not Light and Heavy attacks as neither use Magicka or Stamina.

I wondered why @Soloeus would say this also. You might as well say no armor sets should allow bonus in pvp..........Doesn't make sense

Equip flawless dawnbreaker and see the tooltip damage for destro staff skills go up. Use surge or igneous weapons and see the tooltip damage go up.

If you use one of those addons that show your damage, you'll also see that they are indeed increased and not just tooltip changes.

On the other hand, equip jewelry that boost spell damage and see no difference in the destro staff skills. Magicka increases have an effect though.
