I see no point in paying again for the same game. Plus I don't know if console players will be on the same servers a PC player but if they are console players will get slaughtered by mouse/kb players hands down.

Pretty sure they will have separate servers.

Nah. I don't own a ps4 or xboxone and don't intend to purchase one, at least for a while. Plus, I like my MMO's on the PC, with my addons, mouse and keyboard, general customization the PC allows for. The console is too restrictive for me.

Nope, can't imagine how frustrating it will be using a controller with the laggy PvP servers.

    Goodness no.

I've done the MMO on a console thing a few times, separate console servers and mixed platform servers, and it just never works out well imo.

With console specific servers, after the initial crush, populations just keep dropping and dropping and it becomes a chore doing anything. And with mixed platform servers, the console players invariably become vilified by PC players for holding back development of the game(consoles being fixed points in technology where PCs can be constantly upgraded with newer tech).

I've been really surprised by the sentiment i've seen pop up here and there that some players think console release of TESO is going to be this huge thing. I just don't see it, especially with the drubbing the game has and is receiving on PC.

I would assume same server and that's why the hotkey set-up is so limited in the first place. I think the average modern controller can handle the number of functions necessary for combat (mmm, some maybe, barely).

I'm not sure if movement or targeting will be as successful, though, but, it's been a while since I used a conlol. Do they still get owned in FPS games?

This can be done with PC

I used to be a really big console gamer, but over the years I've just fallen away from it. There are some games I like having a controller for, so I bought a BT dongle and recycled a ps3 controller. If I wasn't a CAG I'd invest in a controller designed for pc. There are a few game that won't come out for pc that are on console, but not enough to justify $200-$500.

Not to mention with the right software, you could play ESO with a controller NOW. There are programs to match keystrokes to a controller. I don't imagine this violates any terms or anything. Could be wrong, I haven't read them for a while.

Also, MMOs aside there is so much more flexibility and control with PC. Performance is based on what you have to spend on it, there are mods/add-ons for most games. XB1 has the PIP that's pretty sweet, just hook a second monitor to pc and save the trouble. The only console that really has a large number of original games not going to pc is the Wii-U which I'm not likely to bother to get either.

I'm not a PC fan boy or an elitist or anything, just a realist. I've crunched numbers and there's just no reason for me to buy this gen.
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

I think you underestimate the power a console has and what the TES name will do. I think they will nearly double the player base for at least a couple of months.
Also, slowly but steady things are being improved. I expect by that time ESO will be a well excepted name for a decent mmo.

If the Arena takes off well, that will bring many players and boost popularity too, this will have a big impact in the media.

For many TES is a console game, even more so for the younger players.

I am. I got the Imperial Edition on PC for $30 if I didn't find it so cheap I would've waited. I cancelled my pre-ordered Imperial Edition of $142. I will pay $20 to port it over to my console of choice. Using a kb/m is very difficult for me when a controller is so much easier to use. FF14 works well with a controller so I'm sure this game will to if I'm still playing it when it launches on console

Edit: The only thing I'm upset about is I will need 2 subs if I want to play with my PC friends when in FF14 I have 8 character on 8 different servers all for one sub

They will not be on the same servers, XBox and PS4 are also on different servers, they wont share a server.

I bet they recycle the US based EU servers when they get moved over.

    Fair enough opinion.

I can see an initial boost happening. But that's really secondary to retention when you are dealing with a MMO. Hopefully ZOS will have a more stable product ready for a console release...whenever that happens to be.

One other thing to consider though when you bring up brand recognition of the 'TES' brand on consoles; on XBOne there will be no problem prolly, but i can see there being some big-time hesitation on the part of PS4 users. ZOS is another division of Zenimax and sister company of Bethesda-and i know there is still a great deal of resentment from PS3 Skyrim users.

You can bet that ZOS is gonna get a nice bit of spill-over of that as well.

I don't own a ps4 yet, but transferring this game would be a tempting proposition. all of the exploiting, bots, bugs, economy ruining crap... all of it never happened, and hopefully the game is ironed out and expanded enough that transferring and starting over (because you will likely not be able to transfer a max level toon with millions of gold) for 20 bucks is worth in my mind. far to many mmo gamers these days use keyboard macros in pvp, and It would be nice to experience a level playing field.

having said all that, Its really more something I would lean towards, but may or may not actually do.

I don't see it being very entertaining for the casual consolers new to MMO's who are going to get their butts handed to them by elite PC users who took part in the transfer opportunity with their already VR12 full min/maxed characters.

I mean those early bird console only players will never get the opportunity to get into Cyrodiil at level 10 and feel like they can compete because there are already going to be fully decked VR12's mopping the place up on launch day.

It's going to like watching someone club baby seals...

I have already paid over $100 for my participation in a live beta test. I have yet to play a "stable" version of the game and I will never be able to get my time or money back. Why would I do the same thing on console? I, generally speaking, like the game. And the blanket retort of "new games have bugs" doesn't cover it anymore.

Bethesda and all of its partners release incomplete games as evidenced by the amount of work they put into "patch releases". They make business decisions over quality decisions. While, I want them to be profitable and successful. I also want, for once, to purchase a finished product where the patches are primarily tweaks and cosmetic fixes; not some primary function that someone got lazy on.

Retort, "It's an MMO. There is no way to test everything." I'm sorry. You must not have ever worked in an environment where quality assurance is important and lives depend on it. You can test everything through the use of quality test procedures, standards, and good old fashioned thoroughness. Will the end product still have problems of some sort unforeseen? Yes. I admit that. I'll give that to you. Just don't tell me you believe the game was tested thoroughly and that you don't feel in some ways you have been a "Paying beta tester" versus a "Hired beta tester."
