Chateau of the ravenous rodent (Mages Guild Quest)

So I'm stuck on the part where I need to light the 4 heirlooms. I tried to figure it out initially, but couldn't, so I looked up the correct order to light them. Now I am doing it in the correct order, according to multiple websites, but it's still not lighting all the heirlooms. Do I have to abandon the quest and start again?

I did exactly the same as tyler and I am stuck now too. There has got to be a better solution than abandoning the quest and starting over.

I can't remember this quest specifically, but it sounds as if the order of the lit heirlooms haven't reset, so it won't matter that you are doing it correctly now.

I have had this happen with a similar quest objective and relogging fixed this issue.

@KariTR, it's the Mage's Guild quest where you get to dispatch Sheogorath's relatives.

I just hit the things randomly, it works after a while, I never did get to figure the 'proper' order to do it but on the three characters so far that I've done it on.

thinking back to this quest I never figured the correct order, just kept changing random ones trying to work out the pattern to it and it suddenly completed itself, its annoying as when you light one it can light/put out other lights too, all I can say is the 2 middle ones seem to affect 3 lights at once and the outer 2 only the 2

This one was quite easy although I did get stuck in some earlier quest where there was a similar puzzle. Logging off and back on resets puzzle to the way it was in the beginning.
