I'll be honest with you. Even if I could be invulnerable and all powerful in pvp and top of the leaderboards, it wouldn't interest me for more than a week.

When it comes to competition in mmos, I already know I'm the best. Not because I am, but because I know I could be if I cared enough to be. Problem is, I don't have an ego to stroke anymore. Sure I have self esteem, but I was the best at so many things early in life that it's no longer a carrot in front of me to run for.

I'm not sure if any of the rest of you understand that, but look at it this way. I see you guys? Running around or typing on these boards. None of you threaten me or inspire me. I don't look down on you, but I'm not the type of person that usually plays these game. So to be the best or to be "known" in these games wouldn't do anything for me.

Hell, I didn't even like being popular in school. The attitudes of the popular kids disgusted me. I was the odd good looking jock that hung around and joked with the outcasts.

That said, I did like the pvp in SWTOR. I like the quick re-entry to battle. Forward camps be damned.

Leveling. I am with ESO since early access and I am still at VR2.

I would be doing PVP, but with all honesty I somehow do not do ANY dmg to anyone. I don't know what is broken. There are guys that shoot me to *** with 3 acid arrows and I on the other hand I fire like 5 acid arrows + waste all my magicka on shards or other dmg spells and I take down 10% of opponent's HP pool only. They just stand take dmg from me and laugh... Not fun really:-S

So I keep questing and leveling proffesions.

I also made new character khajiit NB with which I enjoy leveling a lot. And I want to have majority of skills unlocked when they open pre vet campaign. I only hope they will allow us to disable XP gain.

Btw doshia... What the... I came there as level 10 and she died with two hits :-S
When I was playing my sorc it was hell of a fight. Could those 5 levels truly do so much? Or is she nerfed to oblivion?

Seriously? I made a Orc female in the Dominion a few days ago that i play sometimes and i haven't started the Fighters guild quests yet. And she's really easy now?

I remember her being difficult during early access so it was a good feeling to finally beat her! I don't want it too easy, that's no fun at all.

Lol, the thing that keep's me most pre-occupied in ESO at the moment is reading/posting on the forums, haven't logged into the game now for 3 days. Fed up of only grinding and nothing else to do.
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.
  • sevcik.miroslaveb17_ESO
I do not know. I went there at level 10 with purple daggers and hit her from stealth and used that skill that performs 6 stabs and she died.(maybe I used one more skill from assassination tree I am not 100% sure now) She did not even transform into harvester. Hell she did nit wake up from that innitial stun...

So I am currious if she is nerfed that much or I extremly outleveled and outgeared her? Also gutriper from mages guild was easy as joke. It took me pretty long time to kill it with my sorc during early access.

I am VR7 in Stonefalls. I quest a bit but not to long since i kill my kinsmen.

Imagining what i would do after all quests and im VR12...

I go do some PvP for about 1 hour. Then i log out and play SWTOR. I do that now to. I won't unsub because the games music and graphics are so good, and the main story was awesome.

Don't know how long i can keep playing only PvP before i unsub though. It's like playing the same Battlefield map over and over again.

Contrast this with another mmo you liked. For me personally, I just am not having as much fun as I could be having. I'm finishing up the VR++ from AD,EP, DC now in Rivenspire. I'm struggling to get through it all before I go back to SWTOR for a while.

However, I know my opinion is just me. So what about you guys? What draws you to this game that keeps you playing just like a player who likes WoW keeps playing WoW? What do you do? How does the game captivate you?

Leveling another chr. in hopes it will take long enough for them to fix all the broken aspects. Melee balance , Itemization, end game, VR dungeons, trials.
Additional content is nice but the game is really bad at end game . i would prefer oa 50/50 method of new content and fixing the game. right now they should just abondon any thought of additional veteran ranks. and if they add any content they should open all the dungeons to VR12 with new itemization. Trials are dumb and none fun so they should get rid of them all together and make traditional 24 man content .
  • Gornt_Grimreaver
Now that im V12 with my DK, I get my hireling emails, feed horses, & do some crafting...and by crafting I mean waiting 24 days on research ugh. Seriously that needs to be toned down a bit. I also farm mats quite a bit and PvP.

If nothing is goin on I play one of my alts to get a different perspective of the game. I am anxiously awaiting pre vet PvP, my hope is it will be like DAOC battlegrounds, those were some of the best pvp areas.

As for Craglorn, I have no use for it aside from trying the areas out once and the dungeons. I did a grind there 1 time to get from 11.5-12 but it makes me laugh at the spam there to get a group. All I see in zone is NEED TS REQUIRED, 700 + DPS REQUIRED, ANNULMENT REQUIRED... makes me kinda sad that because you dont fit anothers idea of a perfect build you cant group.

I play approximately thirty hours Monday to Friday and twenty plus hours on weekends. Running with three chars, two AD and one crafter in DC. None of them have hit 50 yet. My philosophy going in was to take it really slow and enjoy everything. Still having a great time.

Added benefit to this approach; many of the bugs were discovered and fixed before I got to them.

I still have a ton of areas to explore, and I would like to start a char in each zone and bring them up to 49 prior to starting vr levels. I dont want the quest lines ruined for me by playing vet first on my main. that should take me a few months, then we will see.

i still would like to make enough money to buy the fastest horse and level that up. I still have to max out crafting. I still have other classes to play out fully and see what they are like at lvl 40-50. I still have dungeons to do. Vet levels and Craglorn, tho im not looking forward to them. etc etc

I have 6mths of game time left, if there is nothing i want to do then ill leave, money well spent imo.

Oh, pretty much ANYTHING except bypassing content by exploit/grind farming the same thing 24/7 to rush to level cap so I can stroke my epeen in badly tiered PVP to pretend that I'm a "winner."

Seriously, I have NO sympathy for content-bypassing mashers that rushed to level cap like a tool. Not saying that's you, but I would wager that most people complaining about lack of content and trolling the forums and zone chat in their self-induced boredom are mostly those that bypassed said content they are crying about not being there so they could rush to level cap to fap.

    Nope, no sympathy at all.

I came from WoW, and it was the first and only MMO I've played. So I didn't really know what to expect coming into a brand new MMO at release, much less one based in the Elder Scrolls universe that I'd been hoping for since I first saw a review for Oblivion on X-Play.

And despite the issues this game has (many of which I don't notice half the time), I've found that my excitement for the game hasn't dulled at all.

I read every quest and am obsessed with collecting lorebooks, trophies, and achievements. My main is VR6 and while leveling I spend my time crafting her story and backstory, every new quest adds more depth to it and I love it. If I get tired of my nightblade, I play my templar healer alt who's currently in Coldharbour. I like making multiple characters of the classes i like playing and making different stories for them and trying out different builds/armor/weapon combos. Im still figuring out and leveling crafting but am enjoying it immensely. After I get to VR12 I plan to level my alt in a different alliance. I haven't even gotten to PvP yet aside from the tutorial, not because of anything I've heard about the state of it, but because I'm too busy with other stuff in the game.

I have plenty of things to keep me occupied and I feel like I won't even finish the goals I set for myself before they release new stuff to do.

You proved me wrong sir! I did not think a happy WoW player could enjoy what ESO had to offer. Glad I was wrong.

Haha, thank you (though I happen to be female). :#

I think the reason I'm a happy player is because I play ESO very similar to the way I played WoW: I tend to focus more on the frills (pets, achievements, vanity stuff, anything in that similar vein) and it makes me happy. I did raid (10 man normals with a smattering of heroics and lfr for alts) but Im not in any rush to get back to that. So while I look forward to Craglorn and trials eventually, it's not a priority for me after I burned myself out in WoW with raid drama.

    Cheers! o:)

I warm up in the game by doing a crafting/explore run. I put skill points in the keen eye ability, and I love running around and see the wisps of light on the ground that indicates a mat. I have 3 chars that I've split up the crafting specialties, so they get 2 each. My plan is to level them up pretty evenly so the blacksmith could make heavy armor for my orc tank; my nightblade can outfit my templar and himself, etc. In this style of play there's a lot of material management so I'm trying to optimize my bank space to allow for the greatest number of mats.

I'll then dip into the quests and look for skyshards. I always look for opportunities to group and socialize. I enjoy collaborating with my guildmates, and we'll often undertake expeditions to Cyrodil. But I do truly enjoy the chance collaboration with a stranger that turns into a friendly chat and opportunity for friendship and more questing.

Honestly, I find my time in Tamriel quite blissful, but I sense there's some agony in the vet levels. That's why I'm taking my own sweet time in getting there! :D

The trend is becoming pretty apparent: Once you reach VR levels, the boredom sets in.

My wife and I have three characters each (one in each alliance). Our 'mains' are 40. We play everyday, usually 3-5 hours, usually more on weekends. We take our time, read each quest, work together, craft together, harvest together... and so on.

To us, we see ESO as being 3-games-in-1. We'll get our AD chars to 50, and when VR stuff starts, we'll probably switch to playing a pair of our other characters as 'mains', until we get them to 50, and then we'll move to the 3rd pairing.

So for now, what keeps us 'busy'?

    1. Questing. We -love- questing in this game. Between the voice overs and the lush graphics, we find it very immersive. Sure, some quests are kinda 'meh', but there are really a lot of great ones out there, too.

    2. Harvesting. We'll harvest together as a pair sometimes in order to pick-up more mats for our crafting. We also harvest at a casual pace as we run between quest markers/destinations. We are in no rush.

    3. Crafting. I handle half the crafts, she handles the other half. That's what we did at the start, but then when we learned about breaking stuff down from other crafters, we started crafting for each other, raising out crafts that way. I am a 50 Provisioner (which as most know only takes an hour or two to max). The rest of our crafts are in the 30s, except for Enchanting which lags behind in the low 20's. Still, we enjoy the crafting/researching part of the game very much.

    4. Exploring. Sometimes we'll head off in a direction... just because. No quest markers? Who cares? The game is the most beautiful MMO we've ever played in, in our opinions. What we -see- is often more than enough reward for us.

    5. Upkeep. Organizing our banks, character inventories, etc. Usually she does this while I am selling stuff in Zonechat. This isn't necessarily our -favorite- thing to do, but I usually sell enough stuff that once she's done organizing, I fork over her half of the profits, which almost makes it seem like I am paying her to clean her room. LOL.

This game really is what you make of it. Maybe we are both -incredibly- lucky, but our 'crashes' have been minimal. We've met -very- few roadblocks/broken quests/etc. Neither of us have issues with graphics, rubber-banding, falling through the world, etc. We rarely get 'stuck'.

Overall, we're enjoying this game far more than we did GW2, SWTOR, Neverwinter, etc. We both know there is room for improvement, but really, what kind of fun you get out of the game is at least partially up to you.
