Since we're not a employee of Zenimax, and we don't have the right information (officials) to assume that "they won't make it" since a Community Manager affirms that will, I guess we need another "Pool Answer" - I don't know I'm not Zenimax Employee to confirm if going or not.

Yes, I feel for the 300 workers and their families. I've been in that position. It sucks. I'd take a 3-month contract, not knowing if it would get renewed. As soon as the contract started, I'd be looking for the next role (the next job). Why? Because it can take MONTHS to find a position, apply, get interviewed by the Agency, take an aptitude and/or skill test, interview with the company (the Agency's customer), then let them make their minds up.

I'm in Australia (Commonwealth) and here every contract i've had for the past 5+ years says they can give you 1 weeks notice. They can also give you 12 hours a week. The deck is stacked on the employer's side.

The ideal situation is a married couple - 1 had a perm job with full benefits and the other contracts/temps to get a higher wage but no benefits. That's what my wife and I do.

Some contractors LIKE the flexibility of being able to give just a week's notice and quit a job (for whatever reason). Be it them seeking out a variety of different jobs or just being able to tell your boss to *** off if you don't like it. Doesn't reflect negatively AT ALL on your record, because it's temp.
