Zenimax Should Offer Customers Their Money Back!!!

I feel that ALL software companies NEED to be held accountable for selling software that is broken. They should be forced by law to offer peoples money back!!! Almost if not all companies that sell something offers a 30 day money back guarantee for their products. If the product is defective then they can get a replacement or their money back. Heck, even if they dont like the product they can return it and get their money back. Why cant software companies be forced to offer the same thing when their product is actually proven to be broken? Now, I realize the software that can be duplicated and or not be deleted from somebodies PC and still be used should not be allowed to get their money back just because they say they dont like it. That would be wrong but with online games that requires a subscription to play the game, they are not bound by the same principles as single player software. So, they should be forced to offer a 30 day money back guarantee even if a person decides they dont like it. This would benefit the public in two ways. Software companies would be forced to not sell something that is broken and also they would be much more highly motivated to make something that has actual quality to it or they would end up having to give the customer their money back.

So we got a product that was broken and they knew it was broken and sold it to use knowing full well before hand that it was that way!!! Seriously....what is beta testing for? Its to find bugs and many other issues that may exist in the game so that they can be fixed BEFORE the release not AFTER!!! Why they even bothered with beta testing it is beyond me. They sure didnt fix the game so why hold beta testing at all if your gunna sell the game broken anyways despite beta testers reports on known issues? This is seriously wrong & a criminal act of Zenimax to do and thats why I feel they should offer or be forced to offer peoples hard earned money back! It makes me furious that I trusted them and payed $80 for a broken game and they knew it was broken to begin with. $80 is a HUGE amount of money to spend on a game. With that sort of money spent I not only expect but I demand that it be made well and as bug free as possible and neither of that was done. And to top it off they expect use to pay them a monthly fee of $14.99 to play a broken game.
I continue to stay with this game cuz I keep hoping that they are gunna fix it and there are some things about it that I actually like. But all they do is nerf things to a point where its now broken and to make it worse they introduce new bugs with their so called "fixes". And there are still bugs and issues that have not been taken care of after all this time since the game has been out. This is just flat out unacceptable and an outrage of epic proportions!!! Zenimax Online dose not deserve the polished and glorious name of Elder Scrolls until they can actually earn it which they have failed miserably to do and I doubt they will ever do it at the rate they are going. I seriously keep hoping they will some how pull the magic bunny out of the hat but as time goes on I keep getting more & more angry and eventually I will end up quitting this game and never ever buy anything from Zenimax again! Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me!
I could rant on about this for ever but I will stop right here with it. I feel my point has been made clear enough & its just my 2 cent opinion. Flame on if you feel you must protect Zenimax for this disaster.

You do have the capability to get your money back. There are guidelines for this. If you pass these guideline, then you will not get your money back. Why would you get a refund on a half eaten cheeseburger? One bite, sure why not. If you feel you deserve a refund, contact ZOS about it. You may qualify.

Maybe that would work in communist Europe, but here in America we go by the credo "buyer beware". If you didn't realize that mmos launch with bugs, that's on you kid. Because of the nature of server architecture and programming this type of thing, it is literally impossible to plan for all of them. Some maybe that should have been fixed, but no matter what a game like this will launch with bugs. The next time, do your homework before making a purchase. The time it took you to type your post is all it would have taken to know that the game will launch with bugs before you spent your parents hard earned dollars(ruples in your case).

Well, I'm not a kid so nice try at an insult but it aint happening and yes I expect some bugs on release but did you not read my whole thread?.....Was talking about the bugs that they knew about prior to release. And they keep breaking things with updates as well. And I did take a long look at this game prior to release and it was made to look like it was gunna be awesome but thats not how it turned out. Look, the empty guilds and all the negative reviews shows the facts. Argue all you want if you wish and make your lame efforts to insult me but its a fact that Zenimax dropped the ball on this.

There isn't anything majorly wrong with this game. The severe bugs have already been fixed. Sure there are some balancing issues, but balancing issues happen. Blizzard hasn't managed to fix WOW's balancing issues after 10 years, so I don't know why you think a new MMO will get everything perfect right away.

The game is broken in a major way. Me personally, I have had a problem with getting loading screens everywhere since the Craglorn patch. Ran fine prior to that. How about all of the broken NB skills? How about mobs not spawning until WELL after you are killed, have resurrected, and returned to said spot and waited? And no, I am not on dial-up. I have a 30Mbps down connection coupled with 5Mbps up. No problems in any other game like this.

Also, as a beta-tester I can testify that many of the bugs still around were in the beta. Some of us urged Zenimax to push the release date back, but "4/4/14" was too cool to push back. I believe this will bite them in the rear, but time will tell.

I also beta-tested WoW and can say that I felt our concerns were handled and considered by Blizzard whereas I kept getting generic (sometimes duplicate) responses from Zenimax. On top of that, WoW was nowhere near this buggy upon release. it had issues, sure, but not like this. I also disagree with the balancing statement in that 1.12 was perfect, but after that it did go to heck.

Finally, I agree that Zenimax has ruined an incredible title. I own the boxed set of every ES game around. I have Arena on eight floppies. Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard? Own them. As well as the Zenimax ones from more recent memory. What happened to stats? How about my 32 skills from DF? Why the lame movement-based combat/attacks? Oh right, we had to put it on a damn console so some brat could play. Fine with me, give me the full game and either wait until consoles catch up or released a trimmed version on the console. Don't limit my PC version because a stupid XBox cannot handle so many skill-slots or whatever.

*EDIT*

I forgot to mention that DF is probably the best CRPG of all time. It is my holy grail of PC gaming, and slaughtering it with the way Morrowind worked is an abomination. Yes, I did enjoy the story and area in MW, but the combat sucked and it seemed tiny in comparison.

Its a 3 month old MMO not sure exactly what you were expecting? The only bug grinding my gears is the Cyrodiil grouping one. If it *** you that much wait 6/9 months come back when the majority of the problems are ironed out.

A. Bad balance in a game doesn't mean the game is broken, Most of the Elder Scrolls games have been poorly balanced.

B. There were few quests in this game you were not able to complete, I ran into like 5 of them. Despite that, There was a Massive amount of content in this game.

C. There is nothing wrong with this game currently or in the past that warranted you a refund for it..

This one thinks the game should be pulled and finished off with a massive "Thanks for putting up with our mistakes" reward upon re-release for all existing customers..

AND/OR...

Pull subscription and put the game back into open beta where it belongs...

I think con-men would be a closer/more accurate description !
Lets face it the way they sold/hyped the game prior to launch (especially all the "Play the way you want" rubbish) Is certainly nothing like we have now. That may have been 75% accurate from 1-50 but once you hit VR this game becomes so linear !

If you think there is nothing wrong with this game, go play PVP on a Mac. Should've had a huge disclaimer "available on Mac but we have huge memory leaks that haven't been fixed in 3 months but feel free to pay the same amount as PC customers who can play for much longer". The PVE stability has drastically improved since beta and I never crash now. But PVP is horrific. And the lag is awful, too.

That is one huge wall of text that I didn't read, but you obviously feel strongly that you should get a refund. Maybe go file a class-action lawsuit if that's how strong you feel.

-20 interweb points for owning a Mac and thinking that games run smoothely on them. I realize it's much better now then it was say even 5 years ago, but companies do not EVER focus enough on game development that is Mac friendly. And I'm ok with that. An overly proprietary computer is horribad imo.
