What do you use fish for? I have some fish but never seem to get recipies for them, you spend time acquiring them but there seems no outlet for them?

No point, really. You sell them, some give you achievements. They don't have any practical use right now.

If my WoW sub was still active you could see how much I was into the fishing there (three tournaments won, 10k+ items hauled up, all the achievements, etc). Here, not as much. In fact, little to none at all.

Not having any other use for the fish, such as alchemy or recipe ingredients, removes any utility from fishing. Just some achievements that if my calculations are correct would bankrupt me should I ever attempt to buy enough bait to haul up all the rare fish.

The title "Master Fisherman" would be nice but I just don't have the patience to go for it without more uses for the fish other than to sell for 3 gold a piece.

Sell them, they're worth some coin.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Yeah - at the moment they are just achievement work. Each area has 12(or more?) rare fish. When you catch all 12 of them - those green and blue fish you can't find? - you achieve something. Sell everything else, and recognize that's why people are zapping bugs and rats and scribs - getting bait, doncha know.

Normal fish caught sells for 3g each.

The only use is for achievements at the moment but as it's one big buggy thing, fishing, ...
And fixing all the bugs in fishing is certainly one of the lowest priorities at the moment on ZOS side.

I play the fishing mini-game from time to time but I'm not expecting to gain anything.

If do try for fishing achievements, you'll catch so many regular fish it adds up to a decent bit of gold. Considering that all you spent was time, since bait is free. My last fishing trip brought in ~400 gold and almost every rare fish in Glenumbra.

It would be interesting if some rare fish for exp could be used for some good reciepes.

Totally agree here. Not even with just provisioning either.

Fish could be useful for alchemy as well.
