When can we expect a "Looking Forward" on the 'M-M' in MMO?

For many players, like myself, an MMOrpg is about more than grinding to max level, or completing all content. That stuff is great, but it's also about the community, how we can interact with other players, and as you put it "Live Another Life™".

ESO has a lot of good things going for it, but I think Massively-Multiplayer is one part that got passed over (did play testers even group at all?). And while class balance, VR content and such seem to be the squeaky wheel getting the grease, we haven't heard much of anything on the sociability content front.

I believe Guild Tabbards, and Guild Insignia's are the only sociability functions that have been acknowledged so far. The silence has me worried that this issue is not on the dev's radar at all.

When can we expect a "Looking Forward" from the Dev's on these?
-Completing quests with other players without splitting phases
-Ability for players to gather as a Guild in the same in-game location.
-Player housing and/or mechanics for players to share together besides the quest mill

You don't even have to answer my questions, I just want to know when we can expect to hear something at all, anything, about the future of the game's multi-player features.

Thanks

I couldn't agree more. It's mindblowing to me to think that they playtested this in groups and decided that everything was ok with teaming.

The only MM in this is PvP - it is not PvE except the new 12 update. It is sad but there is no need to interact with anyone if you don't want to - and some places make it impossible to do anyway.

By looking forward, do you mean the road ahead type posts? Most of those have been at least mentioned as things they're doing long term in those. The only real specific dates related to them are kinda this paragraph

"Update 3 is scheduled to arrive sometime in July. It will focus on player customization systems like armor dyeing, guild insignias and tabards, and it will also be the start of the rework of our delves (smaller dungeons) to make them much larger and give them more worth exploring.

We’re also starting to re-work many quests in the game so we can greatly reduce the chances of you being separated from your party in different "layers" as you explore Tamriel. This is an ongoing effort, but you’ll see the problem alleviated over the course of the summer. We’ll also introduce more Veteran Dungeons, another area of Craglorn with an all-new Trial, and much, much more. Stay tuned for details."

The first road ahead post also announced their plans to make it so phasing doesn't at all separate you when grouped with people. Player housing (though no details yet are known, other than they want to do it right, and it'll likely take a long time), and things like reducing level to dungeon were included in that one. You can find it here:

I am pretty sure they have mentioned housing and how it will not become an in game feature until 2015 at the earliest. I am unable to find the source but pretty sure that was stated.

    AGREED.

All we get is talk about PvP tweaks and balance-nerfing, and pie-in-the-sky talk about what's "hoped for" 2 years down the road.

I'd like to hear their immediate plans about stuff like

    A trade/ooc/advise channel.
    A /follow command.
Tells that alert you with a chime.
Guild stores with a real UI rather than the mess they are now.
    Name-freaking-plates.
    Chat bubbles.

None of these are major to implement. None require major structural changes. Where's word on when or if they are coming?

Come on ZOS! Give us some word on the basic, social and UI playability issues that affect everyone that this game is plagued with already!

Screw housing. I just want to be able to team with my friends as opposed to being forced to solo.

edit: sorry, that sounded a little harsh. I'm just really sick of not being able to play with my friends.

It's okay, and I want to sincerely thank @Lalai for his dev-level response. I guess I'm just really disappointed with the lack of multiplayer in this game. More than anything I want to be a fanboy and play this forever, but I just don't feel like there's anything to do in the game besides solo grind quests. We can't even meet up together as a guild. And that....is not what I had hoped for.

So with that said, I'm throwing in the towel. When I unsubbed you said you wanted feedback, so there it is. I'll be back in 2015 or whenever these things get added. I don't care much about balance, or even a broken quest, I just want an MMO that gives me some options of things to do, with friends, besides a shift at the quest mill. The irony of course being that now that it's a goodbye thread, you will not ignore it. GL HF guys.
