Unable to login since crashing

colonel_schmeevin
Last night I was oh so fortunate to experience the extreme lag on wabbajack where I couldn't do damage, take damage, use siege weapons, enter keeps, etc. my client eventually crashed after the swarm of hundreds took a scroll. Since around 8PM last night I haven't been able to login. I get the login timeout followed by unable to connect to server.

Same issue! Put in a ticket, but after it was escalated, I have not heard back. I tried 3 different computers, 3 different ISPs. At the moment the EU server crashed, our accounts were pretty much deactivated from what I can tell.

    Error 301, yes?

Nope, no error code. Just times out.

Ahh, interesting, it sounds just like the 301 issue. What happens if you input the wrong login or password information? One of the particulars of 301 affliction is that you'll get 301 or timeout when you've got it right, yet the system will come back immediately with an incorrect login information error.

That unfortunately sounds like the classic (can we call it classic yet?) 301, @Frarc, as you are still able to log in on the other server (or the Playtest Server) but not on the one with which you had the connection error/crash.

Some lucky few people have been able to overcome it by logging into the website and accepting the Terms of Service, @Black-Bird was recently able to log back in after deleting/renaming a certain file in his ESO launcher directory as explained in this thread, and @Zubba may have found another way as indicated in this one.

Those are just the most recent examples I've read about regarding ways to overcome it, however. The only surefire way until they manage to isolate and fix the problem is unfortunately to wait until the next time the server is reset during maintenance. For you, on the EU server, I guess that means very early morning on Tuesday.

May as well try some other ways, though, if you search for 301 you'll see everything from those methods in the threads I linked above to howling at the moon, maybe something will work. If you haven't already, be sure to report the problem, too, you can do it from the main website here: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask

Still 301 here too. The list of stuff to try to fix it from CS is getting longer and longer (3 emails, two different reps over three days this time). It's only Wednesday though, so if we go by the 301 is fixed by reset, I'm basically out 3-4 days every time this happens. Last time was Memorial Day weekend. I guess I should just be glad they are actually answering and trying to get me back in game this time.

The last work around was to open 3 instances of the game one at a time, letting the first two go until 301, then the third try would let me in.

I don't even want to know how they thought up that.
