I believe the thought is this specific title is in trouble. I could be wrong.
Yes, you could be. So could others.
This game has people singing it's death song since before it even launched. It's very tiring. There is no saying whether it's malicious intent, justified fear or just plain old negativity which is so prevalent in every gaming forum.
I do not understand at all why people need to speculate about a game's demise.
As for me, I enjoy the game - the good, the bad and the ugly - as long as it lasts and refuse to worry my pretty little head about things I have no factual knowledge about.
The one thing I DO know is, that I cannot set foot anywhere in the pre-Vet zones without stumbling over dozens of people. The beginner islands are almost as overrun as back in the beta days.
I actually never believed they would move the servers to EU anytime soon. Most certainly not before the Beta-Test (aka the PC-Version of ESO) is over.
A responsible mmo-publisher would have had the EU-Servers up and running before the game-launch. Especially one with a big office in Europe.I actually never believed they would move the servers to EU anytime soon. Most certainly not before the Beta-Test (aka the PC-Version of ESO) is over.
People who thought that an EU migration would happen before summer clearly have no experience in what job is necessary for that.
Zenimax knew this as well but since gamers now a days are impatient, it's better to tell a white lie that the EU launch is coming soon rather than during/after summer.
-Temp jobs. Customer service people. Unfortunately (sorry) the most replaceable people of any software company.
Realistically, all CS can be outsourced to highly trained, dirt cheap Indian call centers. Being a business owner, I would do the exact same.
Now, letting go of engineers, product people, inbound marketing folk - that is much more a sign of a downward spiral.
great... another drama thread. it was already stated last week in the road ahead post that server migration was still on the cards. for those of you with a pea sized brain, customer service has nothing to do with server related issues.
On a side note...the data centre (that's were the servers are housed) is based in Germany. last time i checked the commute from Ireland (the customer service centre) to Germany was a was a real b***h ^^ . some of you really really need to get a life.
Quite possible, though that would hardly slow down or hamper the NSA, since most companies broadcast their information all over cyberspace anyway.stungateb14_ESO wrote: »no. i wouldnt be surprised if a lot more countries start telling US companies to keep their NSA spying data centers out of their countries...
And bet you the reason why they were laid-off prematurely - is if they kept them certain labor laws would probably kick-in making them harder/more expensive to fire. Just speculation ....cisadanepajsuxrwb17_ESO wrote: »That article is basically this : A probable fact (who the hell is Connacht Tribune?), spun into a tragic story of individuals seemingly portrayed as victim to a heartless and greedy company. The tone of the article is not neutral, and the use of words such as 'disgrace' although it is in a quote, serves to sway public opinion against the company. So by extension of that argument everyone who creates jobs in the 1st place is gonna be evil somedays. Oh the quality of journalism nowadays.
