Do you play alts in ESO?

Personally I'm an mmo altoholic, however in eso I just can't bring myself to roll an alt. my opinion is that the vR grind is obscene.

It's one of the reasons I've gone off eso, it's just no feasible to play alts.

Yep. Wife and I each have one character in each of the Alliances. But we're primarily AD (where our mains out) until they hit 50. Then we'll move on to one of the others full-time. For us, with 3 alliances, it's like '3 games in 1'.

I guess my vote should have been no.

I did roll an alt because I wanted to see what the other faction quest lines were. Then I found out what VRs were.

Love everything else about the game but being able to do the questlines for other factions with the same character, with no acknowledgment of all the character development you've gone through is just illogical and ruins the entire gaming experience.

There should never have been that option. At all. You chose a Faction, that was your choice, you stick with it. You fought and died (died many many times) for that Faction and in the end it is meaningless. Utterly meaningless.

I am an altaholic, I have 6 alts and a Bank Mule, I play all of them from time to time... besides, it was fun to run through the wailing prison in Primal Armor... not sure if anyone noticed, nor did I really care.

But I REFUSE to level them beyond VR1 level.

ZOS needs to fix VR content leveling issues.

I am strictly running ALT's to enjoy the other classes. Especially since my main SUCKS for Magicka and DPS (Templar Healer).

Zenimax listened to those that wanted to be able to do everything on one character, but forgot to also listen to those that want to stay loyal to the faction they choose at character creation. The end result is that the game is nowhere near as alt friendly as I'd like it to be.

The way veteran ranks are handled means that you are either forced to betray your faction and help the enemy or grind in either pvp or pve to get your new ranks. In pvp they don't allow alts of different factions within the same campaign which means that if you have characters in all 3 factions you have been royally screwed so far. Something the upcoming campaign changes somewhat solve because it resets all home and guest campaigns.

Nonetheless I play alts, I have one as a banker and the rest of the slots filled with characters I play. Going slowly with all of them so not close to the veteran nightmare yet.

I really hope they will rethink the way you are forced to level up once you reach veteran status so we have more options, but until then we'll just have to endure.

I originally wanted to play all three factions with three characters, but then I learned it was pointless because one character will move on to the other two anyways.

I refuse to lvl an alt in a game with such a poor content to do so.

I wont keep doing the same quests over and over with that said , i do have many lvls 10 all of them are just mules now.

    Yes!

For the first time in an MMO, I am leveling alts. I never did this in the past, and always focused on 1 main character.

However, I became quite disillusioned with vet ranks after my DC templar reached VR1. So now he is parked - I am positively hopeful there will be some biggish fixes to VR leveling fairly soon, and will continue with the Templar once VR leveling becomes less painful, and possible with content & quests other than the other 2 factions.

In the meantime i'm leveling an alt through AD (rolled a sorc - boy, is that a joy compared to the Templar :)). I don't want to do all 3 factions with 1 character, I want to experience the content on individual characters & classes. I am by no means a role-player, but story-wise the cross-faction leveling just doesn't make sense to me at all.

As I am also hoping that MAYBE, one day one will also be able to switch factions (and am happy to pay for that service), I would then switch my alts to my main faction DC where my guild is based.

So for the moment, i'm focussing less on VRs and dungeon crawling (although I usually enjoy this immensely), but playing the game as an Elder Scrolls title, taking it easy and enjoying the story.

    VR6 Templar here.

I absolutely refuse to play another class until Zenimax balances sustained DPS and resource mechanics for all classes.

Why should we lower our standards? Fix the game and balance all classes!

I don't play alts. Never liked that in other MMOs anyway.

It's great for me to do all the content with my main character. Once I'm done, I might start over again with an alt, to replay some of the quests I liked. Sad that my main character isn't able to repeat at least some of them, so I consider playing an alt in the future. After my main is maxed out.

Yes, I play many alts, and at least two of them aren't inventory mules.

What I don't play are VR levels, however. I'm not the best player in the world (to say the least), and what I'm interested in is gaming fun and good story, not getting more and more frustrated by my own clumsy inadequacy, which is what the VR levels turned out to be for me. I loved the 1-50 levelling though, so I'm just doing more of that until I get bored.
