You have no idea what you're talking about. Templars are not the best healers. Sorc and NB are better healers because they can sustain as much DPS while healing as a Templar can only DPSing.

And unless I was unclear, I talked about HEALING, not damaging.

In my experience, those templars who focus their build on pure healing, is outstanding in healing groups/instances.

the problem is you are wrong - every dungeon/trial is completly doable with a restro staff healer wich is fine from a balancing point of view.
the problem on the other side is that only using your templar heals does not keep your raid alive as they are horribly mana ineficient while the class does not provide any magicka refill that does not make you vulnurable for 4 sec to be insta gibbed.
on top of that nb/sorc can easily maximise their healing-output by stacking weapon dmg (and in case of sorcs buff it themselfes) templars have to decide to either buff their class or staff heals.
so the question in the end is do you want to have a healer that does only contribute healing as he is not having the resources (and skills) to deal any dmg beside resto staff heavy attacks to manage his magicka. or do you want a healer being able to keep your raid alive like the templar does but is able to dish out some true dmg?

I think it is not the class but the players.... if you are playing your class well you can do alot of stuff really... and no.. not telling you to go mainstream stupid staff builds or whatever.

The player is the best tool in this game... not the classes and weapons themself whenever it get to it, maybe people just need to think a little bit more or just give a damn about which class you have around.. as long as you got the roles you need everyone should be fine.
