NB just killed me in about 4 seconds

About 2 of the seconds i was layying flat on the ground because he got me out of stealth, by the time I got up and was able to do anything I was dead.

we're both v12, I have full purple gear, im a sword and board dk tank. How did I die so quickly?

    Went to same place, a sorc (i think) attacked me out of stealth. Killed me in 3 seconds. He was Veteran rank 1 as well. 2hqv4fl.jpg

    Why don't all the NBs and Templars post how many times DKs stun them? You can also break a stun, you know that right? It sounds to me they either got the drop on you and you panicked not knowing what to do next, or don't have much experience with actually having to try. In every single fight as a NB, you have to try and you have to be tactical/smart about the fight. Welcome to a more balanced game.

    If you don't have any cc reduction the surprise attack stuns you for 4 seconds. If he used marked target on you as well (wich most likely he did) it reduced your spell resistance and armor by 75%. Add also the ULTIMATE and maybe a potion that increases spell critical and there you go...

    the "in 4 seconds" might be an exageration. its not like you started counting when he attacked you. but stil not imposible.

    nb never had problems on 1 vs 1. on the contrary. they are quite deadly if they have some skill.

    I see a trend here. Now you know your own personal weakness, you need to work on dealing with stealth attacks and stuns. Try magelight if you are traveling alone and need to find people in stealth. ---- Which if you are running around Cyrodiil solo, stealth is always a smart way to go, even for a DK.

    This is unlikely 3 seconds. There are no other damage spells on you and each shard is 1.5 seconds.

    You died fast, no doubt, just not in 3 seconds. But that goes for Anyone knocked off their house if they don:t heal fast.

    incorrect:

    first shard was likely an instant cast, as such, I could see that fight ending in 3 seconds.

    If the first one was cast in stealth, the second one could proc from the fury which was also the finisher with weapon attacks weaved in.

    That's a risk for anyone riding a horse solo through Cyrodiil.

    Also that is what Stamina horses are good for --- or at least ones with enough Stamina to take an attack, giving you a chance to dismount or try your luck pressing on.

    Valn, I would suggest you make a thread titled "Nerf animation canceling" and recruit a bunch of similarly killed people to agree with the sentiment. In this way, after you get a few hundred posts about it, you may actually get animation canceling fixed :)

    Ahh yes, there's a built-in stun from being knocked off a horse I think. I don't think you can break out of it, and it's a solid reason to run with a group or dismount and stealth before entering contested areas. If you manage to see someone right before they strike, use an instant ability to dismount right away instead of using the dismount key.

    shards can proc shards, or he could have just killed someone else before killing him

    Had it been after killing someone else it would not have been an ambush and that heavy attack would not have hit so hard. And shards CANNOT proc shards.

    I never called you a whiner. I don't enjoy getting ganked by nightblades any more than you do.

    Fair enough i got owned by a nightblade but from a sorc who actually killed me QUICKER is just ridiculous.

    I have no idea how he managed to hit 445 on me. My hardest hitting ability is only 302 damage, and im melee. Ranged is obviously dominant in this game
