I'm a writer as well. That's not a valid argument.
    I run because I can.

Everyone thinks they are a writer these days.

I know this because I throw manuscripts in the trash from "writers" several times each day.

    I blame blogging.

I don't, I gave writing a try in my teens, discovered I lack any writing talent at all. As for blogging, ?????, it's my idea of hell, telling the entire world what I've been doing, shoot me first.

    There's a huge difference between

skipping over quest details etc, rushing to end game

    or

only having a few hrs game time and not wanting to waste it walking through the same town for the umpteenth time seeing the same npcs in the same position saying the same things, just to empty your bag.

Its also of course the individuals choice if they want to rush to vet 12, theres a few in my guild and they are loving the game

I worked hard to get to the point where I could call myself a writer, and blogging had nothing to do with it. Here's a link to both my book and the short story anthology I recently contributed to with my husband, in case you want to check them out. If you don't, or if you don't want to think I'm a writer after reading them, that's your problem.

99 out of a 100 I walk in cities. I also stand around for long periods of time just looking at other people. I do that a lot. I like the rush but I don't like to rush.

Wow, lots of people shut you right now didn't they "bro"

Looks like you're the one out of place here, perhaps MMORPG's aren't for you. You should probably go play Call of Duty if online gameplay is what you seek.

    Nobody shut me down.

I have a suggestion for him.

Just pretend that your in a bustling city. People rushing around for all sorts reasons: a war is happening, a lady needs saving, their hair is on fire... whatever. Just realize that you are a spectator with some special insight. Be amused. Peer around at these poor souls with some pity as they don't see what they're missing.

I knew a great roleplayer once in World of Warcraft who played an old orc warlock. He always walked. He never complained about anyone else. He just did his thing and he earned an amazing amount of respect. He was a lot of fun to interact with. I wasn't a role player myself but after a time I looked forward to meeting him in the cities and talking to him - in character, something I never used to do.

My point: don't fret over this. Just do your thing.

I loved this post. In the middle of all the verbal abuse, it made me happy. :-)

(and how many perfectly good manuscripts might sit unpublished because the author has no contacts and no idea they need an agent to get anywhere?)

I sprint on foot, but I rarely mount my horse. I prefer walking.

Because I just spent 20 minutes on a vr quest and at killed at then end and rez at a wayshire some where in Topeka Kansas and really don't want to have to fight my way back to the end - again - so I am trying to beat that respawn timer.
