What happened?

jquestb16_ESO2
I haven't played in a couple weeks, came back I'm V3 and I was getting slaughtered by mobs. I don't know if it's lag or what but they were dropping me sooo fast. Even heals were to slow. What gives?

Go to Craglorn, and join a exp grind group, you will get over 1 million exp per hour (37k per boss) and forgot the normal V1-V10 zones until you have power leveled to V12.

Then go back and try it again, by then, maybe the templar class will not be as broken as it in for dps. Or do what most other V1+ templars players have done, and park their templar and play a sorc or DK. (I have got both and the sorc is now more fun)

This is some sound advice right here...

Use a known exploit to advance yourself through the game at ultrasonic speed instead of playing and enjoying the content, as a decently crafted game would allow for.

I get your point though :)

Exploiting the game seems to be the answer for a lot of players on the forums.

Yes, well thing is Zenimax have essentially invited the exploiters in with all they've gotten wrong. More worldly MMO companies know how to curb such advances. I could list some of those but I doubt anyone at Zenimax would even take heed. I mean surely, if none at this company has done just that already, something terrible is going down.

I am also a Templar, so perhaps I could offer some advice/suggestions if you're still interested in going through the Veteran quest content and not just grinding Craglorn.

Melee builds specifically seem to do pretty poorly. Shield bash was nerfed (not sure if you relied on that or not) and biting jabs was nerfed.. on top of that stamina builds tend to be underpowered overall.

Personally, I go with a resto staff. I mainly use Reflective Light (Dawn's Wrath tree, morph of Sun Fire), Blazing Spear (Aedric Spear, Morph of Spear Shards), and Biting Jabs (Aedric Spear, Morph of Puncturing Strikes). I usually have one skill in my forth slot that I'm working on leveling. Right now it's Mutagen, and then the fifth is the Templar burst heal Breath of Life (morphed from Rushed Ceremony). I'm 7/7 light armor. As long as I am moving out of things groups of three aren't an issue.. even managed to solo one of the world bosses in Greenshade (VR 3 stuff for me :D).

A lot of my passives are focused around healing, but I do have some in spell penetration skills from light armor, and spell crit. I just logged off for the night, but if you want I can post my exact build tomorrow.. may not work for you or anything (mainly healing/crafting focus) but it seems to work alright for me.

    What happened?

The massacre patch before the holiday weekend took a broken class from Beta and shattered the fun and relevance out of it.

NBs and Templars have been broken since beta. Sorcs and DKs were the OP FOTM for three months too long and ironically still remain the only relevant classes as they are arguably still OP compared to NBs and Templars.

You can exploit, play in a dress and twirl a baton or just find some fun out in the sun and wait for Zenimax's class balancing in the negative by nerfing.

Real class balance, stamina builds and ability to play any class the way you want as promised in EA marketing hype is likely months away!

Beta and three months player base subscription revenue should bear evidence of game stability, workable solution to bots and class balance.

There has been an exodus of understandably dissatisfied player base, I'm beginning to doubt that ESO will resolve standing issues like class balance before they lose relevance in the marketplace.

    Enjoy your summer!

I actually curious to see what their subscription numbers look like. Anybody know?

Unless it's a public owned company, they don't have to tell you.

Even if they are public they only have to tell their share holders, I think :)

Subscriptions may not be down but it sure seems like the number of people playing is certainly down.

Templars are currently very broken. Check out this thread: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/108377/templar-class-problems-summarized-by-vr12-templar

Myself and most other VR templars have quit by now. Don't waste your money until they fix the class.

Good luck with them 'fixing' the class. What they will do to make it 'fair' for everyone is nerf, break, screw up, take your pick, all the current working classes and call it fixed :)

You bring up a great point. Their idea of fixing seems to be to nerf everything. Maybe I should be hoping that they don't "fix" the templars and keep "fixing" all the other classes.

They also increased the difficulty of some random mobs so packs of three could end up being easy, or death. I didn't have issues with the VR content before 1.1.2.

I just got my first taste of that last night.

I came across a quest area in my VR-4 Zone where It was a healer type, a ranged type and a melee type in packs. There were usually 2 immediate summons when I started the fight. So I'm facing 2 ranged and 3 melee… with heals.

Died a few times before I changed up a couple skills on my bar, food I was eating, my ultimate… basically my tactics… and I was able to proceed just fine.

Was refreshing in a way… after the pissed part wore off, lol.
