Smooth Setting

I tried "Smooth" setting under the camera sub menu, but I do not see a difference with it being on or off.
1) What is it doing?
2)How does it work?
3) Why is it off by default?

No it's not FXAA or the like. It's seem it's more link to the mouse.
Like you know, in FPS you always have options to smooth mouse / camera.
It disable acceleration you can have in rapid movement and can help for choppy/ stuttering camera movement.

ok, like a well oil tripod for a camera then that moves easy vs one that gets stuck when one moves the camera.
Thanks, but is it off by default then?
