Anomaly nerf not so bad.

We have slightly reduced the rate at which you can get items from chests for completing Magical Anomalies in Craglorn.

Magical Anomaly crystals no longer grant experience or Veteran Points. The boss creatures that spawn at the end of Magical Anomaly encounters are unchanged.

At least on paper.

    Instead they have increased the rewards from daily quests and you can still freely farm dungeons.

    Guess people will still farm them for the item rewards.

    Most people will still farm this instead of going through the hell of the VR7+ zones for barely any xp.

    So the zones will still be empty and people who want to play and reach max level for AvA will do the mind-numbing grind for twice as long because it's still faster than doing quests they don't want to do any more. And I found it more fun than questing in the difficult and barren VR 7+ zones, if you can believe that, when I got into a good farming group.

    Sounds like a lose/lose situation.

    Some of those people who would have been grinding will also just decide to unsub.

    I really don't understand the logic of this. Could someone explain, please?

    Is it me or is this situation kind of Ironic? Obviously the people who took advantage are already V12, so people complain about it now its gone (basically) and they have no means to do it. What does complaining do? Well in this case it crushed your chances at catching everyone (V12) and actually getting to PvP sometime this year lol. V11 to V12 was 5.2 million xp lol

    Hmm, thinking about it, this may work out better. Craglorn will soon be empty like the other VR zones...lol least you will get some xp IF you can find anybody to group with !

    My theory is they rushed Craglorn like they rushed everything else. If you look at the craglorn zone on the world map its at least 3 times the size of what we currently have to play around in. There have even been screen shots posted by people that have been able to get into that area and explore. There's all kinds of stuff there to see but nothing to fight. I'd wager they released what was closest to being done even though everything was balanced for Craglorn to be a much larger zone.

    ZOS needs to make the Veteran leveling experience in the faction zones more rewarding and satisfying if they want players to return to questing there. People gravitate towards the path of least resistance... in this case farming Anomalies even if it is boring and repetitive to do so.

    Now that we have Craglorn, there's no reason not to increase the XP gains in the faction questing zones, veteran dungeons and PvP.

    I'm sorry. I'm not good at writing, as you can see.

    I gather that they want people to do the Craglorn dungeons.

    But I still don't completely understand the logic of Zenimax's decision on the nerfing. What do they want to accomplish? It's an honest question. Maybe you can help me out since I'm a little slow.

    Do they think people are going to have more fun? Will they go back into the VR+ and ++ zones?

    There are soo many ways in Craglorn to get xp and loot. There are a lot of bosses. The amount of greed in farming these anomalies was absurd anyway with groups instantly jumping on horses to farm 2-3 of them.

    People just couldn't be happy with spectacular loot and XP they had to try to get all of the spectacular loot and XP for themselves .. so this is why we can't have nice things. Another change I would put in is have them all spawn at the exact same time so groups have to pick one if they want to farm them.

    Honeslty there are better and more intersting ways to get xp anyway.

    it is just sad these decisions come after %90 of the population exploits the hell out of their design failures. Whole guild is already V12 without ever touching the content of the third zone and everyone is now rolling alts "because there is nothing to do at v12".

    I just cannot believe these people are veterans of this industry.. The fact of the matter is simple: if you give people the ability to exp faster by doing the most horrendously boring thing in the world, they are going to pick that over the best and most immersive, voice acted, well scripted alternative which is going to exp them slower.

    I remember in minecraft where we were designing private servers and these addons came that allowed you to script your quests. I remember putting a quest there that required a player to hit a music box 15,000 times to get like 1 diamond. They would do it. They would sit down there and hit that music box 15,000 times, for one stupid diamond, rather than digging down and trying to find it.

    Why cant the designers see this simple fact? Everyone is at max level now, you don't have the resources to churn out content at the rate they would want and now you are accepting it was wrong and changing it only AFTER everyone used it. How difficult was a hotfix to this thing 2 nights after observing the player behavior?

    Im glad the xp got nerfed for anoms. These kids that are complaining about it need to L2P the game. If you want to grind, Then the absolute best grind xp in the game is grinding 4 man Vet dungeons. All these noobs wanting to know how people got to V10 before craglorn patch, do not know how to play. Then they complain about people getting V12, again, because they do not know how to play. They have no concept on how to grind this game. THE BEST XP YOU ARE GOING TO GET IS BY GETTING ACHIEVEMENTS DOING 4 MAN DUNGEONS!!! L2P YOU QQ NEWBS!!

    That's how you are supposed to grind in this game. ITS EASY!! L2P!!!!

    Really, like your reply. I made an educated guess based on what is in the patch notes. When the server goes online, that's when we can see how educated or not.
