[Vampire] My spell resist is already overcharged is there any reason to stack pure fire resist?

I'm overcharged (orange) in spell resist. My understanding is that spell resist covers all trees of spells so stacking some pure fire resist enchants will do nothing for me.

Is this accurate

Incorrect - Of course Spell resist is apart of - Fire, Lightning and Frost, but when you stack them onto glyph's / Jewelry, you stack them individually and gain additional res against them, making it a lot stronger -

Look at it this way -

My spell res is soft capped - + I'm Dark elf = 1550 + Fire res+ I have my v1 ring with 1250 fire res = 2800 fire res + my soft capped spell res = I'm fully loaded for instances whether I'm Vampire or not ^^

all resists are hard capped at 50% (physical = armor, spell resist = magic elemental=res glyphs) So what you end up with is that high spell resist (around 2k) will get you very close to that 50% and additional fire/cold/electro res will help very little. Don't quote me on this but i think its about 43-45% resist so to hard cap it if you really feel the need to it'll only take like 500 around fire res. Now if someone actually has hard data with some numbers to post here i'd be glad to see it.

Yes, numbers would be helpful! How can I see the % that I'm at? When I hover over it, it just gives a description of what overcharged means.

There is a soft cap info addon that tells you the exact number / overcharge number, like this :

Fire damage can be either physical or magical, so you need to hardcap both kinds of resistance. And yes, you can't have more than 50% resist to anything, so if you somehow managed to hardcap both phys and mag, then any extra fire resist would be useless.

@ Ker.Rakb16_ESO I am not sure I believe this. Fire is magical not physical. It can be proc'd off physical damage abilities and weapon swings though. Do you would be dealt both physical and magical damage at the same time.

I assume by physical resist you mean armor? I still see no % so not sure how I would know if I'm at 45 or 50 %.
