There might be, but I highly doubt that the player who enjoy one of these games, will enjoy the other. Because they are 2 different types!
And another one who PROVES ESO is a different type of MMO, just like WoW is a different type of MMO.
WoW was a WRECK the first 6 months of release. hahah. WAY WAY WAY WAY worse then ESO's darkest day so far.
WoW brought the genre to the masses and all it's launch problems stems from basically not realizing how popular it would be: they were surprised as heck at the amount of people wanting to play and did not have the server cap to handle it. They got on it fast and actually spent the sub $$ to fix the issues. Imagine that!
Anyways, I had no real issues past the first couple weeks of lag in WoW and that's it. You must have been either not playing, making stuff up, picked a bad server, or simply just remembering wrong. Subs went up and up as time went on. Can't say the same here, most definite signs of people leaving; it is noticeable.
Now the difference here is this....I WANTED to play WoW despite it's launch problems...me and my lan mates would sit there hours on end trying to log on. We got hooked big time and we all ended up playing for 6-7 years too....
Then compare to ESO where after 1 month, I detest the game...I have not played in near a week and I don't miss it one single bit. Now I moved to WS...which is awesome imo but let's not go further with that (hint, TRY IT!).
In end I just conjure up in my mind that ol 80s commercial for wendys where the old lady comments to the clerk about a crappy burger she is given that sums up how I feel about ESO....
"Where's the beef?"
Most this game's 'content' is quests....where almost all of them can be (are) botted. /laugh!
Can this all change? Maybe but when it comes right down to it...the basic design of ESO is flawed to it's core and I severely doubt things will improve a whole lot other than bug fixes but you never know. I will make sure to check back once this goes F2P in a year or less though. Ha!
p.s. this long and boring reply was brought to you by a person who paid a whole lotta money just to play the forums (again). 2 months to go! I will give one bit of props to the devs...this MMO made me not want to play it no more in record time. Usual duration before I throw in the towel on a mediocre MMO is 2-3 months...you did it in 1. Impressive!

I am starting to wonder if there are people who think everyone must like the same things about games?
