So anyway, maintenance just happened right? People getting their characters back from the whole Error 301. So I log in. 10 mins later I crash… Then I try to log in.. I get the dreaded 301 error. Lovely right? Haven't been able to play for a few hours and I was close to level up on a vet rank. Anyway, I canceled my subscription. They said they fixed the error but people are still receiving this error. Is there still no work-around to this?

    actually that does matter alot. not that one guy left. but regarding to pvp population and none-primetime population i would say at least half of all ppl who bought the game already did stop playing/paying.

    and that should be a big matter for zenimax.

    I'm not home at the moment, but some have reported success with the 301 error by deleting certain game files.

    when I get home, I'll try and whip up a quick batch file you guys/gals can run to see if it fixes it for you. (will create backups of original files for you as well)

    I can't guarantee you it will work, but its worth a shot.

    never mind, just talked to a trusted friend who tried the fix i was talking about, its a no go. it seems this is completly an account based issue server side. my apologies for getting anyones hopes up.

    the problems are the login servers.
    people apperently get randomly rooted through different gateways/providers.
    sadly some of them dont work properly or have issues with the users internet provider. this can be either changed manually by a gamemaster (probably by 2-3clicks) or by rebooting the entire ESO login server.
    in my easiest words though :)

    The issue is completely on the server, it has nothing to do with the client at all. Zenimax is doing nothing to deal with the rampant issue, while we get emails back from support that can't be bothered to read the tickets and then give out scripted responses. And then further insult to injury instead of fixing the accounts they start asking you to validate your account information.

    It's frustrating because I just paid for another month sub a week ago. Would be nice to get a refund on a month's sub. Then I'd go play another game.

    Also, I play on a Mac. I crash every1-2 hrs while playing. While I'm in a group dungeon I have major unresponsiveness from my character. I'll press a few skills then move around, 3-4 seconds later my character will start doing it on it's own. I like this game. It's just very unstable.

    Everyone still playing this game should care. This is an MMO and it is hemorrhaging subscriptions.

    If you have no major complaints about this game, then either your bar for quality is exceptionally low or your level of patience is exceptionally high.

    They're not going to keep the servers on for you the few other players who enjoy this crapfest. When enough of us have left, the lights will go out.

    Going F2P works when you have a quality game but you're no longer gaining new subscribers. It doesn't work when you have a barely functioning game whose existing subscribers are fleeing.

    I'm glad I logged when I did last night then.
    It was lagging hard for a good few hours before that but as we were doing a 10 man map clear we persisted.
    Guild chat was full of complaints from all across the lands.
    Hardly worth un-subbing over though.

    Or they are employees of the clown company running this show, or one of their "loved ones" works for this shipwreck.

    I unsubbed because I haven't been able to login for a few days. Not gonna let it charge me if I can't even enjoy the game. Game is fun. Customer service just likes to copy and paste from their support site.

    It does matter. Maybe he wants to play this game and canceled until this error is fixed. Why should he have to pay if he can't even log in?

    With people going away, it's never a good thing. You don't want dead servers in MMO's.

    He's not asking for something unreasonably insane. He wants to be able to log in. And you tell him to shut it and go away? Wow...just wow.

    It matters because he still paid for time and isn't able to get what he paid for. Whether you agree with him cancelling his sub or not is irrelevant.
