Rubbish mate absolute rubbish.
In Vanilla within 6 months it was a sticker on every box saying 4 million , then 5 etc
If the subs were impressive it would be everywhere absolutely everywhere . The only logical conclusion is that they are too low to disclose which worries me as I like this game very much
You are halfly correct.
Private companies do not have to release any records what so ever then their finacials. And where the money comes from in a company is impossible to say without going through every single debit and credit.
Several people have already stated a very good rules among most MMO.
1st month: Lots of players. New games are fun and MMOs sometimes offers 30 days free. However, some people mistake this to be able to buy the game, get 30 days free, then full money back.
2-3 months: Less players. Several reasons. Players who just didnt like the game because it was not what they expected, wanted or simply didnt like it. This is very normal among alot of games. Not just MMOs.
3-6 months: Here you starting to get a feeling about the player base. About the game as a whole and how the company is running it. Still, to early in the MMO world to cast a verdict.
6 months +. Here you can start looking at player base. Even though most companies do not release these figures, its starting to show.
6 months to 12: First of all, ANY MMO that has a monthly fee for each account, will have such money problems if there are a low player base, that they change drasticly towards what to do next. Free to play, is not the only option.
IF any MMO with a pay per month to play, still is developing, expanding, adding new content and got communication in towards their player base. Then the MMO HAS well enough players for the company to continue in its business plan.
2 years of pay per month, per account = The MMO has players, new as old.
It is very important to understand that a successful MMO do NOT have to reach the giant success of WoW with 11.5 Mil subscribers at their top, and currently I believe its somewhere around 5 Mil.
Anyone who have noticed the message you get when you log on, which is information about how to make an account, ONLY means one thing. The game has sold more then "normal" amonths of new copies of the game.

Since its clear the game is not doing so well based on the many offers to get it cheap i doubt we will see a sub number release for now.
When they do share it it might be to use it as an argument like "we only had this many subs, this is why we are moving to a F2P system".
Either way, a thread like this one won`t make them share it... best guess right now based on metric websites and average people quitting based on the guilds i am in would be about 300.000-400.000 subscriptions, some of them stuck like me + some guildies who bought more months at the start.
melee is non existent in veteran level pve. i unsubbed also
The Elder Mages Online -featuring Archers-
that's what this crap is
as of now, I would throw a guess at 40-50k subs still active. consoles will be somewhat higher after a couple months, but likely will drop just like pc.

Under-informed speculation on an MMOs subs. Even better, there are 2 more platforms that the game has yet to be released on. This might be the funniest thread yet. You guys may as well blindfold yourselves and throw darts at a board.

This game will not come out on console. I am more than willing to bet real money with you on that. You wouldn't even have to pay up... just admit you are wrong.

after playing MMO's for 14 years, I know I have a decent grasp in numbers, and my guess of 40-50k of "Subcribers" (buying more game time after 30 days after purchase) is giving ESO more credit than due. only newbies to MMO's think 50k is small.

I dont care how long you have been playing MMOs for. All you have to work with is hearsay and speculation. I have my fair share of experience and I still wouldnt make an assumption without any facts to back it up. You won't agree with me regardless of any points I try to make, so only time will tell. Let me know if you require some kind of online forum resume to be valid. LoL.
That's a sad fact.rhoekieb16_ESO wrote: »sevcik.miroslaveb17_ESO wrote: »It s low imho.
I unsubbed yesterday, BUT I am not quiting. I am just sick of lags in Cyrodiil. I want them to move EU server to EU. Once they do this I will resub. I would also welcome PvP booster balance. Current system is trash, which turns away majority if normal players. It is domain of powerlevelers and it is not good.
Another reason are Watch Dogs. I was waiting for the game for some time, so I want to have some time with it:-).
I will still watch ESO for news, so I know when to resub:-) (I think one or two month at most:-).
ZOS please work harder and faster, there is still much to explore for me in Tamriel! Fingers crossed.
Watchdogs?
Get ready for an other disappointment.
