being shunted to the new character menu. PLEASE HELP

I play the game just fine yesterday but today, after the little patch I just DLed, I boot up the game and am directed to the into movie and new character screen.
I had this problem with the LAST patch but once I turned off the "Show the PTS" box, it brought up my account as usual. Unfortunately, the PTS box is still unchecked and no matter what I check or uncheck it STILL treats me as a new player.
I think I'm being directed to the PTS but don't know for sure and don't want to accidentally copy over something.

✭Hey, @PlagueMonk. Do you mind attaching a screenshot of what your launcher looks like before you click Play? Also, have you check to make sure that you're still on the correct server (NA or EU)?0 -

no need, I finally got in. After about 10 more attempts and continuing to be sent to the intro and create a character menu, I walked away for a bit (mainly out of frustration) When I returned about 10 mins later it decided on it's own to work correctly. I didn't change anything, it just decided to work.
As an FYI.....I had the NA megaserver selected, English lang chosen, and start on boot up, minimize in system tray, and show public test environment all unchecked.
