I bought the game a couple of days after the release date and chose Nightblade...my biggest mistake. I worked my butt off to get to level 49, and then was fed up. Completely fed up. I wasted so much time with her that it saddens me deeply. So I started a new character. I'm happy with my new one, but I think about my first all that time. I wasted time and money working on her, and for what?
I wish all you other Nightblades luck, but I am never going back to that class. Ever.
Honestly, from a professional standpoint, I think ZeniMax should give some compensation for giving us a completely broken class. You don't go to a store, choose an item from a variety, come home to find it broken, and then when you take it back the manager of the store says, "Oh, I'm sorry, but you have to keep that item, and we're not going to do anything about the fact that you wasted your money on it."
I love ESO, a lot, and I will continue to keep playing, of course, but I feel really bad for everyone who gets super excited about the Nightblade class (just like I was at first), and then finds it broken; it's a complete slap in the face.
It was my biggest mistake too and I've still not come to terms with it lol. I did all my crafting on my NB clothing/blacksmithing/provisioning etc all at 50, bought my horse and stacked it with speed and lots of extra pack space... and now he is useless to me except that he has all the hirelings and makes armor for my alts...
.../sigh

Well I'm done with my NB. This is total crap, he's useless in vet zones now and I refuse to use a staff and change my whole build cause some idiots designed vet levels to be insane enough to make people quit. And yes I will quit if I can't play the way I want, and because I'm being forced to change my whole build with each encounter I come to.
Trying to fight the Blood Omen in a dream sequence... wtf were you people thinking? Did you try any of this content on a NB? I had 5 wisps spawn on me while the main boss attacked...
And yea the vet zones are empty... so how can I do the "solo" quests now? lmao no wonder they're empty and people quit!!

Hoping the game adds some more perks for paying this class. Prior to release I thought The focus on magicka was wrong and was a bad design choice and still think they missed the boat here.

You don't. At the moment, at least.how do you make non-mage NB's viable
This is not about "just boosting weapon damage", but about giving Nightblades class-skill synergies to those weapons. Boosting weapon-skills that are available to all classes will allow abuse by (already overpowered) DKs. Just don't.
At some point Drain Power (Power Extraction/Sap Essence) seemed like a way to go. They could tweak this skill so both Dual-Wielders and Staff-Wielders would benefit, but (as usual) they did nothing.

For my AOE I use the scorched earth & Bombard combo in which the scorched earth quickly builds the Flawless Dawnbreaker ultimate.
For groups of mobs that can't be kill by AOE you through Reaper's Mark on the caster (leave the melee to last) open up with scorched earth after it pulls then light attacks and Venom Arrow to interrupt and start a second dot. As soon as their health drops below 25% switch to Impale to drop them fast and move to the next target.
You sir, have earned an AWESOME from me.Someone summed up melee nightblades quite well before.
Good opener (suprise attack, quite crap though), and good closener (impale) nothing in between.

What skills do you have on your bars? Also light attacks = low sustained dps comparatively, you should consider adding silver bolts to your rotation as a direct stamina to dmg conversion.
