Login Timeout, Error 301

Hi Guys,

I have been having a list of issues with this game since purchasing it a week ago, BUT customer service has replied to my first rather "PO'd" message and I have been going through their steps patiently.

My issue for the forums now is that in the last 24 hours, I have been getting a cycling 301/login request timed out failure, I have no problem with any other MMO I have, leading me to believe it is not an issue my side, all the suggested ports on my router have been forwarded and an interesting thing I noticed, is that my progress bar on my updater is stuck on initialising, even though the play button is lit up.

I have tried the repair function and then restarted everything, pc and router, same issue.

I just want to state that I have played too many MMO's over the years and generally I never play one in the first 6 months of release as there will always be "growing pains", regardless of how new the company is to the game. Having said that, Zenimax needs to address some basics like connectivity and playability in set areas, hopefully I get some response and help with my problem.

It's account specific. It clears on megaserver reboot. They're restarting US later today and EU tomorrow. It's caused by a bug they haven't fixed yet.

i am back in game.i really don't know how but at least i am back in game after 24 hours.i suggest everyone should try to login again,.

There are a lot of fixes posted, I also contacted CS, they called me back within a 1/2 hour and did the best they could to fix the problem. I was very impressed with person I dealt with, and again say thank you.
Problem seemed to fix it self, but not really sure because I tried and made quite a few adjustments.

FFS enough already. They need to just make a sticky of one thread and auto-close anything with 301 in the subject line.

Hi Guy's Getting the same response on the EU megaserver as you, Now I share a computer with my partner, who can login and play, but since the last EU server update I have moved from error 301 to login timeout try again. The CS email team have asked me to do ELUA reset etc and still I cant use EU server. So in desperation I have downloaded the NA client and guess what I can play the game!!! SHOCK HORROR ( mind you had to start at lvl 1 again) So its a problem with the EU login profile thingy.. not our computers and not the game its self ( although its still a tad buggy )

when i enter wrong password it is immediately turn down, but when i enter correct one 301 happens

If you're on EU megaserver this will clear after 3am UK time.

If you're on US it will clear after Monday 8am east coast time.

So I have to wait 3 days to play again? Wtf, I understand a lot of people have had this problem before, theres got to be a better solution. I'm trying to reinstall, but somehow I doubt thats going to help.

Can you tell me how you know its going to be fixed on monday and how they're fixing it? I have found little to no helpful information on this, mostly just threads full of people bashing ZOS

It won't sorry, nothing has fixed it for me. My friend can log in on their machine and on my machine, I can't log in on my machine or theirs. It's clearly at ZOS's side.

I swear, if they tell me to sign the TOS agreement one more time, I'm going to flip. Not only is it extremely insulting, it's very irresponsible that they are not taking fault for their problems.

Hi, after 50 hours of not being able to log in due to error 301 i was able to login right away this morning after the EU server rebooted last night.

I hope i won't happen again, it was pretty hard to go cold turkey on my hirelings LOL

I hope Zenimax reboots the server more often untill no one has problems with the 301 error anymore.

same here Beesting (minus the 50hours, ouch, your hirelings missed you! )
however, i have never had the attack of 301 befor....and the only thing i did different, was.....to not log out my argoinan that i was playing in the bank....
(logged her out in the wild....SO never doing that again)

i dont know if this is of any help to anyone, but yeah, every character i own, i log in and out at my local bank. not so i can check all the containers (most dont have any of worth anyway lol) but because it meant i could access my bank on my account the faster
(baring my cook, who is by the cooking fire in a starting island. she can just nip over to the bank though)

maybe loggin in / out outside of cites towns and outposts does it?
also, maybe the problem is the characters that casue the glitch, are ever so slightly out of sync with the server? the only time i have ever had such an amount of problems befor in a mmo was vanilla wow, where it took 3 GMs to fix it.
first 2 just ported me to stormwind and left (and i continued to fall thru the floor lol)
the last one made me log off, restart both router and pc and moved me while i was dissconected and rebooting. that solved the trick.... maybe our chars that cause the glitch just need to be moved while we are dissconnected from the game totally?

Add me to the "not able to login" list.

I have filed a ticket. Yes, they sent a canned response even though I stated explicitly that I could not log on with any computer I tried. My roommate can log onto his character just fine from my computer as well as his own computer.

So yes, it is a server side problem and not our computers!

Reset the servers daily please until you can solve this problem.

I have cancelled my subscription already (4 days remaining). If they fix the issue within the four days fine, but otherwise I'm am out of here.

There is NO WAY I will pay for a game that I cannot play. Sorry.

No fix exists, the restart flushes all the corruption, sadly it's a gamble on how long you can play until you get nailed with another 301. =(

Ok sorry for the feedback, been busy at work, it did actually fix after the server reset and I have actually had a performance increase since as well, not sure if it is due to their suggestions, or if they tried to fix something and are getting it right.

My major problem is that in all this, not one dev has replied or at least said, we are working on it guys, regardless of the number of related or similar posts.
