If the developers truly wanted every class to be exactly equal like people on here apparently want there should have either been 1 class or multiple classes that only have COSMETIC differences. Otherwise, there will always be a skill that 1 class has that another class wants, etc.

Which is fine, and how multiple tanks (for example) in other MMOs works. Mitigation tanks, drain tanks, hp tanks, evade tanks, heal tanks, pet tanks, dps tanks, etc. They are different but (ideally) equal - or at least equal enough to complete the same content with the same level of difficulty. That is the premise behind the roles fitting in each of ESO's classes.

Just so you know, your "solution" would cause the exact same problem people are whining about right now. As long as there is a single skill that is remotely useful that is unique to a class people will complain that they can't "play as they want"

I think youre missing the point. A great majority of people complaining about not being able to play as they want are interested in playing a specific archetype which their class is connected to. Like assassin for NBs or holy knight/crusader for Templars. Theyre not focused on any one single skill, theyre dissapointed in their preferred playstyle not being competitive.

I want to know exactly what you mean by "not being competitive". Do you mean they can't do the same amount of DPS? Do you mean they can't tank as much as another class? Do you mean they can't heal as effectively? Do you mean there specific skills you wish you had?

In my mind, it means when I walk my nightblade in a group dungeon and try to solo it, each fight is an intense, long battle of strategic positioning, efficient mana use, and one mistake and I'm dead.

And the dragonknight walks past me, is one VR lower than me, and pops standard and talons and destro staff and does what I do with a third of the time and a tenth of the effort.

The key part of your post that I saw was the DK drops standard. I am a DK and I think I am an above average player. The only time I can blitz through a veteran ranked mob without thinking is IF I have standard. I'm sure you can blitz through a mob too if you have an ultimate ready...
If you like small group PvP (2-4 players) and solo PvP check out my video ;)https://youtube.com/watch?v=jechGImtFio

SPOILER: The first 40 seconds of the video contains a scene from the final Molag Bal boss fight!

    You are right!
This is what DK are suppose to be. They are expert in CC and this what make them unique and shine.

People are complaining about DK are overpowered WHEN

    1) They are using other class and wish to play like dk.

    2) Their classes skill are bugged.

    3) Their class trait are weak and don't shine.
So instead of nerfing some class to compensate the weaker class,
you should bring out each classes's unique strength and weakness. Fix the bug and bring it trait to shine.

For example, i don't see any point being a nightblade if i can't take down a single target faster than dk.

On the other hand dk should handle a CC better than nightblade.

So now what happen is you keep nerfing dk and take away all the fun. You are just driving player away. Nothing much!

I am sure by now most of us have know about the recent update and nerf applied on DK.
I hope the game developer could seriously look hard at your game and think what are the direction and plan for ESO online.
As far as I can tell they are nerving mana based abilities wich will result in Mana and stamina builds to be more equal, while also elliminating the ability of some classes to solo group content.
It solves the issues with "medim armor builds not viable", "characters can solo group content", "everyone has to wear light to be effective DPS" and might even solve the issues people have with Bolt Escapes immunity to Spell projectiles (mana less viable = more stamina skills in use that are totally unaffected).

Again, they are balancing. They are balancing DragonKnights, and next Sorcerers, down to the difficulty level that Templars and Nightblades play at. Groups' of three mobs become a slight challenge. Five-mob groups are really only possible if you have a standard ready. Elits are doable solo, but almost impossible with adds. Bosses are next to impossible (without glitches).

They are doing this, because it will mean upsetting those players who are currently enjoying an easy life, but will be a faster and more efficient means of balancing the entire game.

Their other option is to buff nightblades and templars. But if they do that, they will eventually have to raise the power of all the mobs to compensate for it now being easy mode for EVERYONE, and in the end, players like yourself will still end up being upset and quitting, while players like myself will get powerful for a moment, then be back to normal, probably ticking me off, too.

They must also balance these classes, while also fixing the imbalances between magicka and stamina builds, as well as between light armor and medium/heavy, as well as between AOE vs Single Target, as well as spells versus melee.

Mark my words: if they released a content patch tomorrow, that fixed all nightblade abilities, balanced stamina up with magicka as far as usefulness, made melee equal to spells, single-target just as efficient as aoe, and my medium armor build as desirable as light armor ...

You would be here asking for nightblades to be nerfed. Because I would be able to solo Molag Bal without any help.

The only way to achieve this balance is to do it in small doses.

Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.
