Still unable to login, Email ticket support is extremely slow, lets try phone numbers

Well, I seem to be one of the many who are throwing their money out of the window because they can't even login to the game for days..

The usual e-mail ticket responsiveness is about one reply per day, which as you can guess; suggests stuff like resetting your router etc..

Maybe the phone support works better. Well the estimated callback is certainly a lie, but I wonder how long it will take now (:

    The phone support people can't fix things like client errors (especially if error 301). You can try 'em.

    This is kind of strange though isn't it. So e-mail support doesn't work (just because the responses are not constructive), phone service doesn't work (just because they don't think they can help us? that's pretty bad) , well then what is "customer support".

    I would have expected them to at least shoot mails back and forth to actually try to get to the bottom of the problem. But instead, -I'm guessing- we'll be on hold until the maintenance.

    Almost cancelled my subscription, but I guess I can wait one more day, and see if tomorrow's maintenance takes the issue away. Checking the patch notes though, I don't see anything that refers to fixing login issue, so fingers crossed..

    Well I certainly don't mind sharing the experience!
    Error 301 or connection timeout. Practically can't login.

    This happened for no apparent reason. I closed the game one night, and opened it the next day and it wasn't working..


    Tried a lot of things that I was advised, but none of them work. Anyone who has the same issue since the weekend, these don't get the job done..

    * Was suggested to check TSA in account page. I logged into my account and navigated over the TSA, and there is nothing to approve. I guess this is because I had already approved the latest version.

    * Rebooted my router (always love this one :smile:)

    * Tried connecting with cable instead of wireless.

    * Both ESO and Zenimax launcher are off the firewall.

    * I tried msconfig, and unchecked the "load startup items" as well as disabling all the non-microsoft services. Restarted with & again with settings reverted back to original.

    * While I'm at it, I updated my NVidia drivers.

    * I tried some of the solutions advised on the forums, such as running the game in compatibility mode with XP or Vista with administrator privileges.

    * Changed my DNS settings (tried a few as well as just auto receive).

    * I used the repair function, which verified all the data but did not resolve the issue.

    * I have already changed the EULA string to zero in usersettings.txt, and got the user agreement pop up after launching the game. This again did not resolve the issue.

    * I deleted all my addons, tried again, and same result - doesn't resolve the issue.

    * Changed my password (again, was based on a forum suggestion. Pretty pointless I think, but you never know). Didn't help.

    * Also provided any log files I was asked, as well as the game consultant report to support teams.

    Last resort, I tried the phone support and noone bothered to call me back. Even though the ticket said "an agent will call you shortly!" :)

    I wonder what else I can try. I would have accepted a decent explanation (like we screwed up X/Y/Z), with game time compensation for the duration I am blocked from login. I doubt this is an issue on my end, but am definitely open to suggestions.

    Error 301 is likely on their end. Forum consensus says the only fix is it seems to clear up when they reboot the server.
    Is this thing on?

    Customer Support in this situation is akin to being a waiter in a restaurant with a bad chef.

    Hey @Crixxz‌, would you mind trying something to see if it helps get you past Error 301? Try temporarily renaming your usersettings file, then log in and see if that works.

    im having the same problem and i tried what u suggested, the ula came up again and i had to set the brightness but i cant log in

    Try to login from another PC. If it doesn't work, than it's still the server's problem...

    Ah ok, thanks for checking. Just to clarify, are you still receiving Error 301 when you're trying to log in?

    Played last night and logged out normally when finished. Tried to log in today and getting the log in time out and/or error 301. Tried the fixes suggested by support on the forums and none worked (not even able to resign the TOS I had already signed). Not able to log in with either my desktop or gaming laptop. Tried logging in with a different internet connection on laptop and was told to enter new device access code as my device was not recognized (this made me hopeful), entered that but then the 301 error. Had my cousin try to log in for me on his computer, again error 301. This means it is definitely not on my end. So I have to wait until the next server reset to have a chance to log in?

    After spending an hour on the phone with CS the other day after a hotfix gave me the fun 301 error and resolving nothing other then restarting my computer (I suppose it needed a restart anyway, it had only been 15 minutes since I tried that myself), I decided to just spam the login server, after about 100 attempts it let me in, and I haven't had an issue since. The way I look at it, if everyone who has that error just spams logging in as fast as they can, ZOS will have to address the issue because you will basically be DDOSing the login server :)

    So I got a phone call last night, around 3am, which I couldn't answer of course as I was deep in sleep.

    I was also contacted via mail, telling me that my character has been moved into another location. But at the same time, servers went into maintenance.. Now I can get into the game, but I guess I will never know if the proposed solution worked.

    If this happens again, I'll pick up from where I had left off.

    Yes still getting error 301, im going to try getting on the eu server

    I can log in to the EU server and the test server that was just opened to the public, but I still get the 301 error or Login Timeout message when trying the NA server (day two...)

    Get with the CS that was helping you and see if they can move your character to your faction's main city...

    so having one character moved will let me get past login and to character select and then into the game? I have had issues logging in with specific characters before (booted from Cyradiil and could not log in that character for a few hours) - but that did not affect my actual login as I as able to log in, go to character select, and enter with my other characters. Would they need to move all my character's, or just the last one I was logged in with?

    Try one to start with - the last one you logged in with.

    Sounds like you may have a different issue since many of us cannot log in at all (not barely haha). We never make it to the character select screen. From the login screen it either loads for a minute after entering your password then gives the "LOGIN ERROR Login timeout", or immediately gives the 301 error when entering your password. This happens over and over - for me the last 2 days, and apparently is fixed with a server reset.
