Healer NPCs
Healer mobs in regular PvE content are pretty OP atm, esspecially when accompanied by 2 other NPCs that interfear with targeting interupts. In the span of 1-2 sec, these healer NPCs heal from 20% to full, and appear to be able to do this an unlimited number of times. In the time it takes to trigger an interupt, they've already healed up to 50% or more.
Please make one or more of the following changes...

- Decrease the healing rate so they heal for half the current amount per tick of the channel.
- Add a telegraph delay, so we have time to interrupt before any healing is delivered.
- Add a significant cooldown to the channeled heal so they can't just chain cast this.

it doesn't help that things that are supposed to be instant interrupts aren't. So you're in a huge fight to keep the healer locked down until you can manage to whittle away the health through the uberheals.0 -
Atheus✭Agreed - this is complete BS. Also, from the perspective of a player who heals, I have to work a lot harder to fill the health bar of an ally from 0 to full, but these dime-a-dozen NPC healers just make us look bad - at least when it comes to single-target healing. Granted all my heals are fire-and-forget, but it would be nice if I had something similar to at least say I could out-heal your average NPC.
Also, why is it that when I get an NPC healer on my side he's not that strong? Psh.1 -
I hear you on this. If I can, I target and kill the healer mob right from the beginning. That means I take a lot of damage from the two melee mobs I didn't target. Makes for a rough fight if the healer is not taken out quickly.3

Vorkk8383✭✭✭Healer mobs are pretty OP in a lot of cases, I have to agree. Some you need to be the right level and follow the mechanism and that's fine...I'm talking about the mobs that are your level or below, have no mechanism and just heal. JAB JAB JAB...why isn't your health going down?! I'm on my 2nd mana potion!3

Jaxom✭✭✭✭Had a hell of a time with a healer coupled with a delve boss a few nights ago. The healer only had 3k HP but by the time I used my stealth attack and execute, the first thing the healer did was heal back to full...over and over again. No amount of burst damage I did could bring it down fast enough. With the boss also beating on me, I just didnt have the damage to do it. I got lucky and someone else showed up and it was easy then but solo....and as a NB.....yeah.....3 -
Asawasa✭✭✭well i agree healers are the worst things to face because you can't ignore them and you can't count on burning them down without some of their buddies trying to smash your head in.
as a Bow/DW NB i have two choices when facing these pests. both involve killing them first.
1) with my bow i start in stealth open with snipe, venom arrow, swallow soul. then heavy bow attack, venom arrow to interrupt their channel and exploit with heavy attack keep hitting them with alternating venom arrow swallow soul/bow attacks til they dead. also you can isolate by shooting the healer from max range and waiting for his buddies to run out the go DW to kill him before they can run back to you.
2) start in stealth ambush, blood craze then rapid strikes. interrupt his channel heal and heavy attack, rapid strikes or soul harvest ftw hoping his buddies haven't killed me by now. this tactic usually works best since im specced for leeching health and i make the best potions. if there is a boss with the healer i almost always try option one first and run away if it doesn't work initially
when i'm grouped i lock down the healers asap.

✭They tend to prefer to heal others than themselves.
So when they're in a group, start with some sort of AoE,
Then focus on the healer, being ready with your interrupt when they start healing themselves. If they're healing something else you hit with your AoE you don't even have to worry about interrupting them.
They're not hard at all, just different. All it takes is a little thought, practice and tactic. Learning to interrupt effectively is one of the most important skills you have, be thankful these healers are giving you good practice to refine the technique.

The worst is when you fight a group that has multiple healers. If my ultimate isn't up, I often can beat a group like this. I just don't have the Magicka to stun that much.0

It depends on your class, I think.
Yesterday I cleared a solo VR6 dungeon on my healing Templar and got to the last boss who was a healer. I had to kill her for the achievement before her helper assassin mob re-spawned.
I couldn't do it. My interrupts couldn't stop her from regenerating to full health super quickly. She started casting it, I immediately throw aedric spear at her, but she's all topped up again. I just wanted to see how long it would go on. I had a resto staff so I have plenty of magicka. It was endless.
It only ended because we were fighting in a corner and I dropped my ultimate nova thing on her and she disappeared into a crate and never came out. I just left the dungeon while I could. No achievement. No randoms in the zone to help me out. The only way I will get that one is to go back with some guildies. For what?
Yes, I hate healing NPCs. They are bad for healers, especially when they are the last boss. I just drop those quests if I get them.Edited by Blud on June 3, 2014 9:04AM0 -
Stabbina✭✭✭When facing a group with 1 healer + x other mobs, the best way of getting that group down seems to be nuking the healer at the start. Obviously his buddies will not like you for that and try to smash in your teeth when you stun their healer (who by now has already healed 50% op his HP on tick 1).
When facing a group with 2 healers + x other mobs, you better hope you have enough burst to get 1 healer down before any of the group realise they are under attack. Should that succeed, it becomes 1 healer + x other mobs tactic (except you are now without mana probably).
When facing a Boss Healer npc (+x possible adds) your best bet is to pray it's not a solo quest.1 -

Fought a VR 6 boss healer in a delve solo. The only way I was able to kill her was to cheese the hell out of it with Dark Cloak and concealed weapon, followed by a knockdown. rinse repeat and she died. NO amount of burst damage a NB can do would have killed her otherwise.0 -
Redwyrm✭✭Everything is fine with healers. They are very easily recognisable by yellow glow on their staff. And if you planning you fight at all, i simply always will be wise gank healer first, then do with everyone else. Or at least stun healer for long duration.1

Yes, it's a pain to have to bounce back and forth while dodging the other 10 people trying to lop off your head, but it's doable.
When the enemy is doing something bad, interrupt...
When the enemy is doing something good (for themselves), interrupt again.
It's part of the reason a some extra stamina can be useful on what would not normally be a stamina-based-build.Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...
Earn it.

Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS1 -

✭✭✭Interrupt is a great tactic - when it works. Unfortunately, interrupt fails for me almost 50% of the time and the VR healers have an unlimited supply of Magicka and their heals always restore them to full health whereas mine almost never do. Fighting healers is not a fair fight at all.1 -
Sallakat✭✭✭There was this one boss in some quest cave that you had to run through on AD side.
You first killed some very weak group NPCs and thought you can move on. But no no, then out comes a big fat monster and a human looking NPC. Well the human NPC was a healer. Had to kill the fatty around the corner in the cave cos the healer just wouldn't go down an inch with the fatty around smashing you.
Ok kill the fatty, and then go on the healer. I still dunno if that was a bug or just a mechanic but the healer rooted you so that you couldn't roll out of it like with normal roots. Each time right after rooting me like that, he started healing himself up. It was a weird root, cos it looked like one of those icy roots you see in the game, but also trying to interrupt or use any skills seemed not to be possible. So the whole thing took me a few tries, but managed to get it done with some split second reactions to what he did and also standing right on top of him
That was the most difficult NPC healer situation that I've come across and that was just a normal quest.
But for crying out loud, is there any stop to people calling for nerfs if this is something people wanna nerf FFS. I mean learn to play, geez, if a healer NPC is too much for you. (unless that was sarcasm that I totally missed ) Rebuilt - Aldmeri Dominion

✭✭About the only way I can take out a mob with a healer is to hope I have enough Ultimate built up to use it. I have found in many cases they are harder to defeat than dungeon bosses solo. They really do need to be nerfed a bit.0 -

My method is similar, shield charge the healer, hit the group with a lot of AoE damage, the healer will heal someone else, but who cares, take out the healer while he is healing someone else and finish the rest of the mob. ✭✭✭✭✭I have not gotten to it yet but a friend mentioned a 6000 health archer boss in Reapers March who has his own 9000 health healer boss in tow. How do people approach that? I can't nuke something with that much health. If I concentrate on healer, the archer will tear me to shreds. If I concentrate on archer, healer will just zip him back up to health. I am sure there must be a tactic, though...1 -

✭them being a challenge is the whole point. Use your interrupts and burn em down.
I like that a healer NPC does what any healer would do when they or their partner starts bleeding. NPC's are even taking potions.

You just swap one of your skills with a Disorient, use it on the healer, kill the Archer during the time the healer can't move anymore and start a 1vs1 fight against the healer when the Disorient wears off.
