Why the hell do I have to reboot my machine after every update you guys make to the game? My hardware and your software are not related nor should be the OS commands your software requires. Yet, I'm forced to shut down everything and am not given any option to simply reset the game memory or whatever else you guys are doing in the background. PC's are designed to stay online for their lifespan. I suggest that you give your software the ability to survive a simple update as well.

    I never rebooted my PC after the ESO update.

    Try submit a ticket to the customer support ... your problem can be in OS settings

    Lies. Driver updates, windows updates, etc. all force you to restart your system.

    That depends on wich driver and update it is, but yea. ;p

    Stating that you run your computer for 15 years implies you just have it sitting in MSDOS or some *** version of Linux with a 15 year old kernel. :)
    It would also require premium parts to be able to survive that long but it is possible, the harddrives though needs to be replaced so the OP must have been running a raid and used hotswap to replace disks. And not to mention a powerful UPS to keep it up during blackouts, it's not realistic to not have a single blackout in 15 years time. :)

    Forced to shut down the game after an update? Forced how? I've never heard or seen *any* game whatsoever (ESO included) that required someone to reboot the machine after a patch has installed.

    I mean sure the way ESO patch and the required server downtimes which shouldnt even be required if they had a decent patching system in place is *** but it wont do that.

    Today, many driver updates doesnt even need your machine to reboot. We're not using Win98 anymore.

    Having to shut down everytime, I would guess it is something on your end. Don't think I have heard of this issue with anyone else.
