Lissana ended up looking huskier than I intended. Eh. Nord lady's got meat on her.

Nothing wrong with a Nord woman with a little meat on her bones. I find those type attractive. :)

Try matching the 'before' screenshot in terms of location, angle, time of day, and lighting before you say it's dramatically changed. Also, make sure your resolution and detail settings match the original as well.

You've introduced far too many variables in your examples for anyone to tell, with any degree of reliability, just how much it did or did not change.

Did I say it was "dramatically" changed?

The meshes are obviously different from the provided pictures. It's not dramatic, but there is a change. Other posters with characters using the same hair style have reported changes.

Try thinking whether or not the tone and content of your posts is helpful and appropriate before you make them.

Give me a break. I'm a photographer, and until recently I taught it at the professional post-secondary level. I meant what I said the way I said it; lighting, light angle, background, and PoV dramatically alter the way we see anything...renders included.

Spare me the false outrage over tone, when there was no tone present beyond direct and knowledge-based comments about the variables in your images.

I spent literally hours to make my chars, and one morning after a patch, all of them looking different, weird, i honestly don't want to play them anymore. My play time drastically dropped from 6-7 hours a day to 15 minutes. I just don't want to play with some weird looking characters that i never intended to make. If they will change the character models why we ourselves created them at first place. Let the developers decide what i will like.

Other posters as well as Zenimax have already confirmed that the look of some characters have changed, so I don't know why you keep arguing.

Yeah coz its much more important that all those nubs who cant log in or cant stay logged in due to crashes or all those idiots who want rid of bots and gold scammer and definitely more important than the game breaking bugs....

Did I say it was more important? No, I said the exaxt opposite. Do you think informing Zenimax of a bug in any way hinders their ability to fix other bugs? That would be absurd.

Please don't post unhelpful things in this thread.

Priorities also include small bugs that may present larger issues than the observable by the player base. If we as players do not inform the developers of these issues, how will they know of them? We do not prioritize them, but we make the reports of them. Zenimax will make the determination of the severity of the issue.

The only difference I can see in those two pictures is it looks like they covered up a bald spot on the forehead region. It looks a lot better, the before picture seems to be losing her hair the poor thing!

    - marcusstratus's wife speaking -

I'm pretty miffed about this hairstyle change as well. I noticed it specifically on two styles:
    - Ponytail-with-center-parted-bangs (which the original poster provided pictures of) - the bushy-ness affects how the face-shape looks and I don't like it

    - Headband-with-bun-and-center-parted-bangs - the headband was moved back and the bangs are more bushy and I really dislike it. I created a whole character inspired by that hairstyle. The tip of the headband used to come down right to the forehead so that it looked like my 'adornment' was dangling from it. Now the headband is too far back so you can't really see it properly when looking at the character straight on :( I actually contemplated deleting that character entirely after the hair change, but I'm holding off in the hopes that it will be reverted back!!! Please!!!

Ask yourself this, with all the other problems in the game, why did ZENIMAX take the time to change peoples' hair like this? We didn't ask for it, you didn't ask for it - it's simply a stupid change that no one wanted and should be reverted back. And by the way, I don't think anyone here is ignoring the fact that there are other problems in the game too. We're just saying that they shouldn't let this problem fall off their radar. You're the one who's blowing this out of proportion.

    Common sense.

That same hairstyle is plagued by shadows under the hair too, which looks awful. I noticed this on a new Altmer I'd created. Like the entire hairstyle was pushed back towards the back of the head a bit.

All future game changes hereafter must be personally approved by ESO player DakotaCoty, for this is a person who knows exactly what is "worth" patching.

On-topic: The difference in before and after is pretty apparent to me. I won't say it looks terrible but it certainly looks different and too wide for the head.

I've actually encountered a similar problem where my (altmer female) character has a constant angry expression myself, I hope these issues get addressed soon!

As I posted a while back in this thread, try using the /brushoff or /sigh emote. It -should- revert your character's expression back to its default state.

As you mentioned "priorities". My number one priority is how my character looks, i am level 47 now and i still wear level 20 chest because i think it looks gorgeous. Some other players in an MMO become VR12 in one hour, worrying about if they got banned or not is none of my priority. It was their choise to exploit, i will put it lack of manner, but sadly these people are everywhere.

You are not the one who decides what is number one priority. There is a whole big World around you, and you are not the center of it.

I got off easy with some horrible color changes to my armor, but no actual structural changes to the characters. I made the perfect Khajiit yesterday (right up to skin color and spots) and then when I started playing her face was fat and perfectly round and she looked like a lollipop so I had to start over. She did NOT look that way when I made her. So, I had to take the cheekbones in all the way to make her look normal in "real" life.

Sorry for the delay in responding, @Maverick827. We're currently looking into this issue, which we've seen people report as a slight difference in hairstyle, face choices, and facial expression. We're focusing on some of the more critical fixes over the weekend, but this one is on our radar, too.

Why are there critical fixes after every patch you make? Seems like one step forward and two steps back.

Are your programmers high school graduates?

I noticed this same change, to the parted bangs style shown above. My main character is a Bosmer who uses this hairstyle. I loved the way it looked before, framing her face just right and showing off her pointy ears. The new style mutes the ears a bit and makes her face look a bit wider thanks to how it's framed. I preferred the older version and have no idea why it would be changed. I hope they will change it back, and I've submitted a /bug report in the game. My character's appearance has always been important to me, not only in other MMOs but in the single player Elder Scrolls games where no one but me would ever see it.

I finally remembered to take new screenshots of this hairstyle, and dig up some old ones from before the patch. I really don't know why in the world it would have been changed in this way.
While I couldn't find an old picture of this exact character in the creation section, i did find an early version when I was playing around, using the same hairstyle, and I'm certain I had the forehead settings the same which would be the only other setting to affect this.
