It can be abused by sending a full suit of armour to a brand New character - but then again, you can abuse that just as easilly by putting it in Your bank, or sending it to another player and have them send it back...

I think we should be able to. would be a lot easier to move items between characters. I do something similar, if a friend is online I will send it to them and then just have them return to sender. It works though would be a lot easier if I could just send it to myself.

If they allowed this, everybody would just send all their crafting mats to themselves and never use the bank again, just open the mailbox when you need something... Then they'd add a cap to how much mail you could have at 1 time and people would complain about that. Let's stick to complaining about bank space.

+ Farming a boss and your inventory is full? Sending it with a mail to yourself will ruin the game gold balance even more than it is now because ppl will farm items and sell them this way without having to leave the placemost of the time.

No, and this is a meaningless and unimportant poll in the overall scheme of things. In my (humble) opinion. No offence. There are more important things that need to be improved than this lower-priority issue in my opinion. I would like to see things like a) more inventory space; b) fix nightblade issues; c) fix templar issues; d) fix rollbacks; e) fix grouping so we can group with friends without getting phased out; f) fix vet level experience gains; g) fix rollback issues; h) allow players to play left handed so immersion folks don't quit; i) fix pvp campaign population imbalances; j) get rid of bots; and k) transfer European server to Europe so that European players don't quit, just to name a few issues that come to mind. This mailing to yourself issue can be fixed after that.

Hopefully Zenimax aren't wasting resources looking at this useless poll when they have more important things to focus on.

I rarely use mail, but would use it more often with the ability to send to self,

I would like to mail things to myself to avoid having to run to the bank to drop off the item and then take the next character to the bank to pick it up. I don't want to hang around a bank all day just to switch stuff back and forth.

Most people I know get around the not being able to send mail to yourself bit by sending it to someone and just having that someone bounce it back to them. So.. in a way, the people that really want this already have it, which means there's not a reason for the game not to include it as a feature at some point.

To my knowledge, there's not a current limit on how much mail you have. An unlimited number of space would negate the need for bank space, which would make upgrading bank and bags kinda pointless. So some sort of mail limit would need to be put in place just to make sure other features aren't being devalued to a huge degree.

I think if they put something like a 3 day time limit on stuff in your mail box with attachments, it would give players the ability to send mail to themselves without resorting to using the mail as permanent storage. After 3 days the mail could either be automatically deleted or automatically deposited into your bags if you have the bag space. I'm not sure an overflow should be allowed because that would defeat the purpose of preventing mail from being used for storage.

If there's an issue with the time limit, the 3 days could only apply to stuff you mail to yourself. And even that could be shortened to 24 hours.

you can use the bank to swap items arround bewteen characters. No need to give lots of inventory space for free.

I like the system the way it is, if you want more storage it exists as a gold sink.

On the other hand Zenimax could allow emailing things to the bank or another of our characters, but severe limits should be put in place, like a maximum of 3 to 5 emails to self. Otherwise people would exploit it for unlimited storage.

So while I'm not opposed to emails to self, I believe these should be restricted.

You know I got to give you +1 internets for trying. Your real issue and everyone else's is storage. Your asking for a exploit to game the system. What the real fix is 1.guilds the guild system is broken and causes 2 problems. Having to have 10 accounts to open storage and other functions. What is going on is 1 or 2 people get access and everyone else is locked out. This tactic causes mass amounts of player jumping form guild to guild and adds to the spam of the single chat channel for the zone. The fix is allow anyone to open a guild and buy/earn guild functions with gold or some sort of point system. Give the players something else to build and have a goal for.

Cripes - mail should be used for mail.

I think there should be tweaks to the inventory system - like free space for trophies, maps, disguises or maybe a bit more bank starter space. But mailing stuff to yourself thats just skeever corpses.

If it wasn't intended to be used for hoarding then why have the return to sender option at all? If I want to waste up to 20 gold to hold onto 6 items in one mail at a time, so what. Now, if they start charging the receiver to return to sender that would stink!

edit: Thanks to Blackwolfe5 I was able to remember that this was how I was able to pass items between my characters.

No need to mail between characters of an account, will change my choice to no.
