I know they're still working on a lot... But recently I'm seeing a LOT of players fade away. That in itself is discouraging. This game has so much potential... so much, but a lot needs to change.

I'm not even going to go over all of my opinions of what I think needs to change, there are enough threads in this forum to figure that out... But it needs to happen quick.

I don't want to see this game fail, but it's seemingly heading that way. Which saddens me.

Ghost towns everywhere, last time was in VR Stros M'kai, there were just 2 players.
Remembering back not too long ago Khenarthi's Roost you couldn't even get a kill on a mudcrab.

Ya I had to drop 2 guilds because there was just no one on them anymore, joined 2 trading guilds, seems to be a common theme.

Seems like all those that wanted another single player in the ES line may be getting their wish.

    Sadly.

You are basing these numbers on 8am on Saturday? Most people still haven't even recovered from their hangovers yet.
Side effects of reading messages on forums can cause nausea, head aches, spontaneous fits of rage, urination due to intense laughter, and sometimes the death of your monitor or other object in throwing range. Lol, no this was based on Friday and Saturday night CST (prime time) NA server. Don't tell me you don't notice this, even in starter zones now, waiting to do a Public Dungeon boss to get 1 skill point, waiting for someone to come is common.
Gone are the days where you see those just hanging around to kill the boss to even help.

The bot farming deterant worked but it didn't help regular players either. Bots prevail.

In my guilds 1/3 seems to be gone...
In my friendslist 2/32 have not been online for more then 20 days.

Perhaps they will move both servers to EU now to save money :D

    Guild is 55/495

there were over 30 on 20 - 29 days not logged
half the guild were over 7 days not logged
around 100 seem to be playing most days

I logged for 10 mins, reported some mail spam, said hi, cleared up inventory and have not had the will to play any more all day so far. my partner is not avail today but I have no interest in alts or farming for mats in non VR areas on main.

I am looking for other subbed MMO's cos it seems this one is losing players fast

The loose "endgame" and the multiple tiers of gear are keeping any kind of endgame away from most PvE players.

In a regular MMO at the end you usually end up with something like this ...

    a) basic crafted and dropped gear for max level suitable for hunting for some kind of class set.

    b) some kind of class set that sets you up for the hard modes and raids.

    c) raid reward gear tier

    In this game we have

level 50 gear and VR1 gear even though they are the SAME LEVEL.
    VR3+ gear
    VR5 + gear
    VR 7 + gear
    VR 9 + gear
    VR11 + gear

SEVEN Tiers of PvE gear. This is not good. Nobody feels they are anywhere until they have played through all 3 campaigns.

Many players just skipped most of the content and forund ways to grind it. Some of the fastest grind methods were stopped.

We have 2 communities. Those that exploited and/or fast leveled and those that played the content. We also have a LOT of gold buyers.

Fractured endgame and a fractured community.

    Looks Bad.

I figured someone may say this. I wondered about it myself too, while musing on what the OP said. Then I countered in my head. Surely the OP knows what the population this time of day normally is, and is making comparisons based on that?

    Yes...

The numbers on my list in the weeks prior were much greater at exactly the same time.

    Much, much higher.

Not only is the population of my guilds/contacts down right at the moment, many of them haven't been on in 4-5 days.

I have 20 people in my friends list. I check the "last played" often expecting to see the doom & gloom that these forums always suggest. The longest "last played" on my friends list is 2 days. Not too shabby imo.
Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

I'm sure the WildStar launch has nothing at all to do with it. /sarcasm

A few people in my guild have been on about it incessantly for weeks. Those same people have been mysteriously absent nearly every WS beta weekend event and haven't been online since WS early access kicked off.

Not saying ESO numbers weren't dwindling prior, but with the launch of the "next big thing" you're bound to see more people vanish at once.

So some people have played the first inclusive month and then moved on. So what, it happens all the time. No new MMO keeps every new player long-term, some will, inevitably, decide it is not their kettle of fish.

Less than two months after the launch is far too soon to claim the game is failing.

The doomsayers were predicting the failure of Rift at least two years ago, yet it's second expansion is due for launch later this year and the end of WoW has been predicted for much longer than that.

Go back and hide under your stones and come back when you have useful to say.

This morning *was* the launch of Wildstar and I know a lot of ESO players were going to play both MMO's for awhile.

Trust me, the doom/gloom thread is unnecessary.

Maybe they're just taking a break? It always makes me laugh when I don't play for a few days, and when I log on again people go, "Oh hey I thought you quit!"

When I am online, my guilds have plenty of folks unless it's early in the morning.

But not everyone plays every day (despite how damn addictive this game is). Casuals unite.

I feel pitty for the Wildstar people...
Not because I think it was a bad game.

Because all these "This game is so broken"-guys who did not get an WoW clone moved on.
Now they are ranting/trolling over there... for not getting a WoW clone.

This is the most relevant thread about a "hater".

What is the point of saying that ? If the game is sinking, they will know it, and far more than you, far before and far more accurate than you .

If they are not... well they will laugh if they even give a **** about that thread.

This thread is a total nonsense that bring nothing to the community. Nothing.

And by the way saying the the game is sinking because at one moment in one guild few are connected is like saying the car maket is sinking because the road in front of your door is empty at 9 in the morning.

    How sick it is...

Now, now, he obviously has an incredibly large ***, bags of charisma, is popular with the members of his gender persuasion, and therefore does not need to explain himself or show any kind of respect. That is the mark of such an incredible lack of insecurity, that you can just sit behind a nice safe computer screen, and act without any regard for anyone.

We should be so lucky to be part the amazingly well balanced specimen he clearly is.

My main guild, not my 4 trade guilds which people come and go a lot. Only has 4 out of 19 people even logging on to play anymore. Everybody has basically quit. I cant even find groups to do vet dungeons anymore. Sat in ques for 2 hours the last 2 days with zero luck. Friends list is basically dead, the 2 tanks I ran with haven't logged on in several days. I was so hyped and loved 1-50 but when you release an unfinished product it wont last. Also the class systems are horribly impelented (sounds good on paper but isn't working), I would love to play a berserker type class or a true melee type but anything with it is just awkward feeling. Yes you can play melee but it just doesn't feel right and stamina builds are completely broken, so I use a resto staff and destro. Also 4 classes are not enough choices, should have been 6-8 at launch. And don't give me the weapon skills crap either, that could have been on top of the classes which then would give them a more competitive advantage. You have to have that for any product to succeed. But yes I agree, the game is dying faster than any MMO I have ever played, literally a ghost town.

And how exactly does this thread contribute to anything? Does ZOS only know population numbers based on what someone says is happening to their guild or friend numbers? Please. This is another doom and gloom thread meant to cause controversy and/or sensationalism.
