I had the same thing happen to me while fighting a harvester in Coldharbour. Dead but not dead. I ended up using <alt> + F4 and logged back in, dead for real.

That having been said, and being a NB, it was a refreshing change to only be mostly dead. Now If i could trade one of the useless NPCs for a Miracle Max, i'd be set.

I had this same issue in Coldharbour. My character was a NB. It happened a few times, especially when going up against Harvesters. It sounds like you are having the exact same issue as I did in the exact same spot.

Same thing happened to me last night.
Died in combat.
I can walk around but can't activate any spells or 'E' anything.
The screen colour is all that faded thingy like you when you are dead, so yeah I sort of figured I was dead.

Logged back in and I was really dead. Use Gem or Respawn at Shrine.

ZOS, if you need to repeat this it happened to me everytime from one boss. It was a boss in Shada's tear (iirc) that runs to an anvill and starts an aoe that will wipe your group if you don't kill the fire sparks in time. Every time that aoe hit the boss would reset, my stats would regain but I was in fact dead. The group members would appear dead, and laying down but each player saw themselves alive and standing.

I have also seen it happen to players dieing from other players in PvP (no npc involvement against the person who died)

*Also there is no death recap. There is no indication you are dead at all other than the fact that you cannot interact with the world of the living.

Having the same problem. In the heat of battle and my character's life is nearly gone.
I cannot use weapons or pick anything up. if I try to fight I am told that I can't do that because I'm dead

After I quit and log back on I am presented with the revive screen.

You wasn't helping the vampire lady perform her rituals by any chance? I had the same thing last night. Same place, fighting the same monster.

That's what I was doing! Its the Harvest Heart quest in CH, also I too have a NB.

Its a latency issue that was introduced in the craglorn patch. There's really nothing you can do but log in and out(close the game if you can't log out) Basically you died but the server hiccuped so you still appear alive on your end while the server thinks you're dead, it usually happens when you have a regen or heal going when you die. Some bosses make it happen more than others, but it can happen everywhere.
