Only Getting Iron Hide in Vet Lvl 8 Area?

I wasn't sure if this is intended or not, but I went ahead and reported it as a bug in game. I am posting this here to ask if this is indeed a bug, and if it's not, why is it this way?

As the title says I am farming in a veteran lvl 8 area and all of the creatures I'm killing are not dropping anything higher than Iron Hide. It seems strange and unfair since void blooms and void stone (veteran level 10 items) are in the same area right where I'm farming. Why has this level cap been placed on hides only?

    Cause they updated the mobs but not the nodes, there was a note saying the nodes will be updated (so they are no longer V10 but the same as the leather drops) in the next patch.

    That sucks, so then where are we supposed to go to get the vet level 7 and up leather? I'm only seeing that in my mail from my gatherer guy.

    EDIT: So I have to go kill stuff in a higher level area that I'm not able to fight well in to get the materials for the armor I need to fight in my current level? That makes me sad...

    Its ok, you can trust ESO, its not like they would ever switch off the wrong server or anything like that. Oh wait......

    Okay, so I just drug myself up to the vet level 10 area and I'm still not getting anything other than Iron Hide from monsters.

    Zenimax, where are superb hide scraps and shadowhide scraps? Am I seriously only supposed to be getting them from my hireling? They are not dropping anywhere in the game right now!

    I'm begging you to respond, I'm really frustrated and I want to craft my new vet lvl 7 armor :(
