Zenimax is making no attempt to stop bots there are literally TONS of them running round the starter islands in each faction. they speedhack they teleport above and below ground at will and they steal nodes before the node even shows up, we tried to warn zen during beta that the restrictions they were imposing on players in the form of AH limitations and bag space limitations and other abilities would lead to a complete bot infestation because the market opportunity of selling gold in this game would be huge and we have been proven right, its been what 2 months since launch? and the bots are totally uncontrolled

I think they haven't. Lately I've stopped seeing as many bots as there were before.

The poll software seems to always round down, so actually seeing a precise 100% requires the moons to align.

in lower level zones, yes. They keep using that bot port... thing, and keep porting to and taking resources; forcing people to buy them from others. in vet zones? not yet. but give it time

I get maybe one spam mail per day that depending on how lazy i'm feeling can be dealt with by pushing one button (x to delete) or quickly filling out a report form. Hell I could even just download the spam filter addon and be done with it for good. Yeah in leveling zones you see a lot of bots running around, once you get to veteran zones however - they don't seem to exist at all...

the point is they still need to be dealt with and you guys ignoring the bots are part of the problem not the solution, honestly anyone who cares about ESO and its survival needs to take a look at fast report and get to work reporting these bots ive got 15 so far today just on bleakrock

I've just reported a gold selling spammer whose name started with 'Sellinggold' then the website, including the 'www' and the 'com' bits. That to me is the ultimate sign that the sellers have won. People are starting to give up reporting as they don't feel anything is being done about it.
What's even worse, earlier I reported a stream of bots, all level 2, all looking exactly the same running around a dungeon.....in Coldharbour! All using the speed hack as well. Only reason I got them, they all stopped to talk to an npc.

Ported to Bleakrock this afternoon for low level wood and upon arrival it was like watching a speedrace, just instead of boats or planes you would see Nords in starter gear fly and slide all over the place.

Maybe Zenimaxx has control over 90% of Tamriel, but the starter area is in total bot-control as of today. No nodes, no immersion, no chance.

Well , i dont know why they nerfed bitting jabs , there was no reason to do so. Therefore , for now , im accepting bots being a possible reason.

If bots are the cause for this nerf and this nerf was the last straw that made me quit this game.

    Yes , bots won :P.

The bots haven't won. I see them warping around Bleakrock the whole time but they don't impact on my game-play one iota, they even warp past most nodes and leave them for me. The question of whether they impact on one's game-play is the determining factor in whether they've won or not, and in my case I haven't the slightest hesitation in saying they haven't won at all.

Were you able to log on again?

And where can I find this add-on, and .. uh, I actually don't know how to install them here - cross between Curse and Steam/Nexxus baby/DOS 3.3 was the last operating system I understood.

I voted "NO" because this kinds of "BOT ARMY" happens at the beginning of all the MMO's. As the coders seal the leaks, they will become a minimal annoyance.

Got a problem with gold spammers? Level up and leave the introduction zones.
Tired of bots sitting on bosses? Same deal, level up and leave the zone.
Bots were bad in the intro zones and still are when I head back that way. I wander around various zones and once I got to around level 15 I've never had another bot problem.

Their market is being depleted. While they grasp at straws... I've kept track of their emails and their prices are going down instead of up... normally this would be due to a lack of expense... however it is believed that this may now be due to a lack of market. How can the bots hope to continue their profits when everything they're trying to offer can be acquired by players relatively easily? There will always be a market for leveling... that's always been a problem with every MMO... but their market for epic tempers, legendary items, gold, and motifs has at this point been removed.

I mentioned in another post that the market for motifs was destroyed and while people confused me for wanting it restored... I simply stated that increasing difficulty would help. Although at this point being that so many people (real players) have farmed up not only motifs, but mats, epics, recipes, etc... to the point of having vast quantities on the market at all times... I think the bots are literally hanging on by a thread.

The only thing that is remaining is perhaps a required rethink on Zenimax's billing policy. We have already shoved off all the players who simply wanted to slip in for their free month and bail... although it's how I was billed that concerns me... I was billed AFTER the free period for the game time. If Zenimax made it to where you pay in advance when activating the account... it would cut into the profits of these bots taking advantage of the free month SIGNIFICANTLY.

Example: Trial periods can be used one after another... items and gold exchanging hands just before the time expires on the previous account... credit card information removed (if it was a valid credit card in the first place)... and the cycle can continue. If they pay instead for their time on day 1 in order to activate the account... every ban would be a loss of the month subscription price, game price, and likely a loss of their items and gold. In ALL forms of war... it comes down to resources and profitability. Also... having a credit card history and personal history connected to said card... could lead to being able to bring charges and banning of the person(s).

I do not believe the bots are winning. I think they started out strong but as time progressed they have lessened quite a bit.

Just two days ago, I saw a lot of bots in the beginning areas. Tonight, I have yet to see one or even hear anyone talking about them in chat.

This is good and bad for obvious reasons, a demand exists in game due to the amounts needed for bank/ inventory/respec costs.

Yet, almost no spam or groups of them going after nodes or mobs. I counted 1 today and it did not last very long.

This can mean that players are not using those services or it means the bot owners realize they are losing money and decided to go to another game. There is a game coming out tomorrow.

We will never know if the moderators have a new tool in play so we can just speculate.

I would like to see the tax information on those sales though. I think the IRS would be curious as well if they are on US soil. For overseas, maybe the state department could check it out. Where are these funds spent, terrorist networks, narcotics operations, human trafficking? I would not be surprised.

I just hope the players that bought into that garbage fully realize that it never stops with just the seller, they are into other things as well.

I think more information on these sellers should be provided so people know exactly who they are getting into bed with. Might change a few minds in the process.

Just finished getting my 3rd chr through 1-50. The bots are far far far worse then what I seen on my last 2.

Almost at a point where I might as well just bot my 4th chr up, not like a damn thing is being done with them bots anyways. I see the same bots running the same patterns day in and day out. I report em each every time I pass em and it sure doesn't seem to be doing a damn thing.

Despite ZOS claiming that they do something against them I'm still wading through a sea of bots whenever I play one of my low level alts. It is absolutely hypocritical of them to praise the immersion of the game when you are constantly reminded of real world greed by bots and gold spam. Heck, they havent even bothered to implement a simple filter to get rid of gold spam mails.

I voted yes, but only "for now". The fact that they so blatently teleport and fly all over zones, just right there in your face, makes me feel this way. In all the other MMO's I've played I've never seen such outright blatent scripted/automated bots piling up in such numbers and getting away with it. It really seems to me that they should be hiring or bringing on some extra staff as GMs JUST to sit and have that be their primary role, killing the obvious trains of them teleporting and flying around. I know they are doing that in the background, but the few days they sent out systems messages with a GM's name saying he was ONLINE and KILLIN BOTS was the best system message I've ever seen. Obvuiously he got flooded offline by the billions of players messaging him, but if they had a few people like that in every main zone that would be enough for them to run around the zone and take out bots every day to keep the playerbase exponentially happier.

I voted yes. The reason being is not the mere presence of bots/hackers because they are there in every game. It is the fact they are so obvious without care about it. I have reported the same bots teleporting under the world multiple times a day (basically every time I see them) because there are so many and I am not certain if I have reported that particular one. I watch them level up with me through the content while reporting them. I have not seen any dent made in their population. I fail to see how the bot/farmer business model could support buying so many accounts and be profitable if they were being banned. So I must conclude they are not being banned. Unless the same random letter names are just that popular.

Regardless, what is the most damaging to this game, imo, is the perceived lack of action on ZOS's account when I talk to others about this. All the gamers I know are now assuming ZOS either can't or won't fix this issue and are planning to drop their sub, which will lead to me dropping my sub if my mates leave. I doubt we are unique in this.

It appears that ZOS must be catering to this crowd, or turning a blind eye towards them.

    Cheers!
