Tell me guys It's a joke... a f***g joke.
I mean price are too high and the game only allow you to win 4gold max when killing a mob. you win a little more when finishing a quest.
I bet some people don't really have the choice to buy gold with goldspammer. I really think Zeni you need to do something about that.

I know it's such a travesty that you can't take advantage of people any longer.

Really ... were they just hanging around annoying the zone or did they use LFG tool? If they were assigned using the LFG tool I would report them. The prices of the motif's were nonsense....people make a financial foothold by charging ridiculous amounts of gold for a fluff item LOL Not to mention all the dupes that were in the system and receiving in game mail from the dupers trying to sell the motif's for real cash. I'm glad the market tamed down, and they are a respectable price again.
Don't worry, I am sure you will find something new to extort gold from players with. Saw someone offering BC runs to the newbies for 2K a person earlier....go find him and see if you can't reel in a sucker LOL
You all realize the buying things from other players is the only real use for gold in this game other than repairs, right?
So what if you can't get daedric or Ae without spending hours farming it, or paying a high price to someone who spent those hours for you.
You can't craft daedric because the price is too high? Too bad. It's a luxury, not a necessity. You don't wanna pay 100k? Don't. Either farm for hours yourself, or stick to crafting Breton.
The game needs crazy rare things that sell for high prices. Otherwise everyone has all the same crap for no effort, and if that happens, what's the point of even playing? What's there to strive for.
It's like common day America: nobody wants to work, but they surely think they deserve money.
That's not the point. Nobody (i think) here has a problem with the rarity of some motifs. You guys don't want something to strive for that's rare in a game?

The point is that the prices simply did not match (virtual) reality.
As i said earlier, in my main guild, which has a large crafting population, we have been giving motifs to each other for free.
Remember the last overpriced fad, the vampire bites? That one went the way of the dodo quickly as well.
Yes, there's always going to be some sucker who is willing to pay big bucks for something one can get for free, if you know where to look.
;-)

Oh yeah, I agree there were some suckers who were paying WAY over what the price should have been given the actual rarity (supply), but that happens everywhere - diamonds anyone?
I kind of think it's good. It gives an extra dynamic to the game. I like that when I go into the first VR zone in a faction, there is an active market of buyers and sellers. Anyone who claims it's immersion breaking, must have never visited an actual old city where bartering takes place - it's just like that with people shouting at you to see their wares (though I think the addition of trade channels would help those that just aren't interested).
I just don't want them to completely remove every low drop or rare drop item in the game, simply because kids feel entitled to have everything. I like challenge, it's why I game.

The Primal and Barbaric motifs were worth 75-90K gold... and now they can hardly be sold for 20K gold. Meanwhile Daedric and Ancient Elf were worth about 150K and 100K respectively... and now can hardly be sold at all due to vast amount of folks farming them up... they've gotten to the point they're being given away. So the market for those of us who were trying to gain a monetary foothold has been lost in this form. Can I get a response from Zenimax about the future of this issue?
You guys don't want something to strive for that's rare in a game? I mean, I haven't been able to afford them either, but I like that there are things that are hard to acquire. Maybe the mechanic was broken, but even if they fix it, you guys will complain because you can't have every item in the game?
What better item to make rare, than an item that has absolutely no impact on game play and is purely an aesthetic change?

You bring a good point. Walking through a market is worse than zone chat spam! But to be truly immersive it would have to be players in a market square in /say. I would actually love that...everyone knows where to go for their goods, different cities have different specialties...like old time RuneScape in the days before the Grand Exchange.
EDIT: and the important part, no more feeling like you're being tapped on the shoulder by Joe with his squeaky annoying voice trying to get you to buy his pants while soloing an epic world boss.

Do I want to strive for something, yes.
Do I want to strive for motifs, No.
Let use strive for rare gear, that I consider worthwhile.
Leave the Motif drop rate as it is.
