How many subs does ESO have?

My guess is around 100-200k Subs atm. I think they're working on relaunching the game. Rather than focusing on pushing out new content they should just make the game free for now and focus on fixing broken mechanics.

Pushing out new content when the realm is on fire is not going to work, and on the other hand they can't justify the 15$ if they just fix stuff.

If they cancel the subs, hold back all content, then fix everything then relaunch the game and activate the subs again then release content every 3-4 weeks.

My guess between 500k to 1 million subs. If it is 100k-200k we will probably be hearing about 'reallocation of resources' soon.

QQ isn't fun unless someone else sees you doing it.
You don't think ZeniMax wants to know why people are leaving? Do they have a retention survey for people who unsub (and does it have open boxes for actual responses or is it like WoW's unsub polls that had very specific complaints they were already planning to fix and nothing else)?

No, actually they don't so... I guess goodbye!

Ah another thread about someone "asking nicely and genuinely" about ESO subs claiming they're going to brag to their friends that play other MMO's when in fact it's another tool that wants ammunition to shame ESO online.

I hope ZoS NEVER releases sub numbers and I also hope all those who hate ESO so much just leave the game, the rest of us here will be happier for it.

Because the forums have gotten to a point where they are far more entertaining than trying to deal with the game.

As a privately held company, don't look for Zenimax Media to release this game's sub numbers. They're certainly not going to answer a forum query about it.

Throwing the word 'private' doesn't equate to the company not having to report to shareholders and boards. And if this had been a raging success, believe you me, you'd have heard about it. The reception was 'meh' at best, and the company's amateur dealings did not help further their cause. More than likely, you'll see official reports in early 2015.

Just unsubbed myself. Didn't even make max level. realized my build/class would be unplayable at higher levels, NB class broken, and don't want to be another Sorc running around. In all honestly this sucks, high hopes for SWOTR, but that failed. Now this...could some other company destroy something else that's near and dear to our hearts please.
Most people who played SWTOR, loved it till they hit level 50. It was very engrossing. Class stories were the best thing in the game.

Hmm loved it till level 50, then people started quitting, why does that sound familiar?, nope I can't quite place it.

Everyone knows that if you unsub, you have to go on forums and tell everyone. Kind of like announcing to a whole room that you're leaving the party now and won't be coming back. Just to make sure everyone knows.

The thing is though, most don't. So what you are seeing here is the tip of the iceburg

Maybe they are just humble and prefer to do great without being all "in your face" about it".
Maybe they know that Subs will fluctuate strongly after release. Because those that bought it did not realise young Multiplayer games have balancing problems.
Or maybe the just don't want to be acused of "lying" when the numbers they say does not matches up with what "ESO is doomed" posters are asuming.

Propably a combination of the above.

They shouldn't have integrated the death-dmg info window, cause this really opens the eyes for players on balance issues, especially if you play a templar you'll be surprised that many classes do double the damage and more.

Very doubtful considering it would mean they aren't trying to capitalize on easy marketing as 'first 1 mil subs in x days' or 'second fastest growing mmo' etc. No company would be that foolish to pass up easy money.

    It s low imho.

I unsubbed yesterday, BUT I am not quiting. I am just sick of lags in Cyrodiil. I want them to move EU server to EU. Once they do this I will resub. I would also welcome PvP booster balance. Current system is trash, which turns away majority if normal players. It is domain of powerlevelers and it is not good.

Another reason are Watch Dogs. I was waiting for the game for some time, so I want to have some time with it:-).

I will still watch ESO for news, so I know when to resub:-) (I think one or two month at most:-).

ZOS please work harder and faster, there is still much to explore for me in Tamriel! Fingers crossed.

Forums tend to be populated by the more dedicated players. Which is why the hardcore believe their views are general views. The more casual the player, the less likely they are to frequent forums.

It makes it very very hard for devs tk ever get a true idea of how the more causal players actually feel.

They get plenty of hardcore feedback and then watch subs go down, when they listen to that feedback. Lol it's a hard hard job.

They need a built in detailed and required question air before you can cancel. They might have one, I have not cancelled, so don't know.

Activity on the Forum is not a sign of Dedication or being Hardcore. In fact quite the opposite - most people are just happy to play the game to even bother with what goes on here. And the crowd that is having fun with the game has little reason to go on the Forums and post.

    Indeed.

It is amusing when someone unsubscribes from ESO because they were dissatisfied, yet they continue to visit the ESO forums and voice their displeasure; even more so when they hijack and derail threads that have absolutely nothing to do with game feedback.

A survey when unsubscribing is a good idea, but making it mandatory is not. If I was unsubscribing because I was unhappy with ESO, having a survey forced upon me before I could successfully unsub would make me never want to touch another product by Zenimax.

I think it will grant me at least 100h of fun.

But regarding ESO, don't take me wrong. I am not disapointed. I am only not happy with EU server still sitting in US after two month and PvP is not well balanced. (in level and stats, class balance I do not care about).

Oh well bots actually are dissapointment:-). But all 3 problems I have with the game can be fixed, so I have faith that it will be fixed by the time I finish the Journey of Aiden Pearce:-)

Even if there were only a thousand players playing, it should still feel relatively packed in game due to the megaserver and all those players being on the same 'shard'.
