I submitted a ticket today: 140528-008477, explaining everything I have done and still cannot see them. Yes OpenGL works but the CPU hit and graphics are unacceptable for me. I have a top end graphic card and system and the game did work BEFORE the 1.1.2 update.

I spent many long sessions through beta and EA and the first month. Sometimes I was in game almost all day long. I was able to pop around to various mules for banking and all was done with little performance issues.
Now, post-patch, I am unable to play much longer than 30 minutes.
Whatever changed sucks for me. I wish I was able to get the same performance as before, I honeslty care little for how pretty the game is, I am a child of the 70's so pretty much anything looks good to me, I just want it to run cleanly.

this is same problem i am having. and as i remember, during instalation it said (now instaling dx11) so i know for a fact its not on my end. it was something that zenimax did in this last patch because i was having more then awesome performance untill this last patch. i bben here since early beta last september
i can only last about 20 - 30 minutes before i have a major crash that takes out not only eso but completely reboots my PC. im getting scared that i will end up with a worm or virus if this keeps happening.

Are you monitoring your CPU and GPU temperatures? Overheating might be causing that.

yes i am,
and NO its NOT THAT!
my computer is BRAN NEW, GOT THAT? BRAN NEW! ITS NOT HOT ITS NOT DUSTY ITS NOT NEEDING CLEANED
OMG!!!! LOVE THE FORUMS!!!!
NO MORE INVISIBLE ENEMIES!!!
UserSetting.txt
switching D3D9 to D3D11 fixed 90% of my graphical issues!
even gave me proper fullscreen with driver side AA, AF, and vsync!
(i also have 'preferexclusivefullscreen' set to '1' ... it is '0' by default)
odd
that game has been running D3D9 for over a month...
no issues till patch 1.1.2.
even more odd:
if there IS options for D3D9 and D3D11...
why is it not in the game menus???

Wow, you really need to calm down. I was not trolling and was only trying to help, but I won't offer you any help any more.
How would I know you have been asked that question before.
I think we all agree here that something got messed up with the 1.1.2 patch and @ZOS_JessicaFolsom has stated they are working on it.
I do hope you get your issues sorted out so you can get into the game and use that anger towards some monsters.
Peace.

I had actually set my game to DX9 to test out SMAA (still doesn't work), and was surprised to find forcing it to DX11 in UserSettings seems to fix it.
- Navigate to " C:\Users\YOURUSER\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live" (or liveeu if you play on EU megaserver)
- open "UserSettings.txt"
- search (Crtl+F) for "SET GraphicsDriver.7"
- change D3D9 to D3D11
If your card is not DX11 compatible you can also try "OpenGL" but, at least on my system, it takes a massive performance hit.
Thanks Willock, I can see the frost atronach again
My luck I have a DX11 compatible card.
On a side note, it seems the game graphics load faster in crowded areas after I set the DX11 fix above, it was really laggy after craglorn, I will either edit or make a new post on this thread if the things change more.
Up to this point this thread has been really helpful and constructive. If you have nothing of value to add and do not appreciate the help that is being offered, then please refrain from spewing your vitriol at anyone else posting in this thread.Hlaren_shortsheath wrote: »JasonSilverSpring wrote: »Hlaren_shortsheath wrote: »eobethb14_ESO wrote: »So, I fixed my blobs with the switch to DX11, but like other nvidia users, I get crap performance with DX11 compared to how I was able to play pre-patch.

Well until ZOS gets this thing with inability to log into characters worked out I have reverted back to DX9. I have crashed hard twice today but both times is when everyone and their uncle could not log into their characters. So it's back to not seeing ghosts for me.
@JasonSilverSpring , Thank you! I have characters hung up in whatever has been going on all day where you cannot access them. I will give it another shot when/IF they fix this character issue most of us have right now. As it is I cannot tell if the crashes are due to the changes or the new game issues. Thanks again for all of your help!!

reported for what? i haven't broken any forum rules, nor have i broken any eso gameplay rules. and my posts deleted? why? no rules were broken.
the fact that you and several other act as a knowledge base inplace of eso technical staff is simply wrong and is the post that needs deleted. there are hundreds of different situations that may be causing problems in eso for many different people so we come here to the forums for answers from developers. you like to pretend you know eso code and technical issues and at same time insult people you pick and choose who to be nice to and who to be rude to is unacceptable. and as you said above in the quote i copied shows proof of that very thing.

@Mablung, I crash to a black screen on both monitors. The second monitor will then come back on but the primary monitor stays black and I have to close the game window because I can't see the game to exit any other way. Then behind the game is a nice pop up that my graphics driver has crashed. Before anyone says update, I have tried so many it isn't funny and so have many, many other NVIDIA users. Game ran just fine before 1.1.2 even though I had to run DX9 to make ESO and NVIDIA happy. I have memtested my system, tested the CPU, done FULL drive wipes and reinstalled the entire OS for every single driver I tried and all with the same results. I don't have ANY other programs or games on the entire system just so ZOS can't say, "Oh it has to be this or that then".ZOS says run D3D9 fine that is grand but now I cannot see the ghost/projections...blah...
Yesterday I forced eso.exe to run Win 7 and then changed D3D9 to D3D11. I had two very hard crashes that caused me to reboot the system both times. I am out of ideas.
