The more I go through these forums..

the more I wish that they would've just released an ES VI in 2016-2017. The amount of complaining, and straight up negative feedback from so many people really make me a little sad. I'm having a good time in the game myself so far (Cheers devs, you did a nice job, the not-as-frequent-as-everyone-makes-them-out-to-be bugs aside), but when I have a look at these forums it's just everyone taking the *** on the devs, the game, every little potentially bugged aspect of the game...
An MMO really brings a lot more problems with it than I expected, at least everyone else seems to find these problems to be really huge. I feel like this game is going to go into history as "that one messed up thing that we should all forget about", no matter how many improvements are made in the future.
The ES community always seemed to be a nice bunch of guys and gals all enjoying the game by themselves and sharing their positive experiences over the interwebz, now it seems to have evolved into a group of elitist trolls searching for bad stuff and complaining about it all the time. I know that those friendly people are still out there, they're just being a tad bit overwhelmed I think by these MMO vets that want it all fixed, and that want it fixed now.

I prefer positive things too, but almost all negative things are actually true. The game is rushed, shouldn't ever have been released in the state it is/was. Not from a MMO standpoint or a Elder Scrolls game.
    Why do people complain?

I wanted to make a post like this, but then I realized how many "you have no clue" replies I would get, I agree with you, game is good, i am having fun, haven't encountered any bugs that have made me burn up with rage (and i have found a few)

Just be prepared to be hit with angry people any time soon

I agree with you. This feels like an Elder Scrolls game to me, and I'm enjoying it as such. I do think that they can improve the MMO aspects of the game, but as long as it continues to feel like I'm playing an ES game that has the aspects of MMOs that I enjoy, I'm happy.

Let's be honest now, every ES game had its fair share of bugs at launch, it's almost a tradition ;). And yes, maybe the negative things are true, but not anywhere near as bad as usually discussed here. And next to that, there are these mysterious things called "positive things" that people seem to have been forgetting about lately.

I'm ready, don't worry about that. I'll just keep running around tamriel looking for m'aiq the liar in the starter areas and having a giggle at his funny comments, while the hater-part of the community keeps raging about the lack of content and that they've been VR12 since a day after craglorn was released.

you have to remember one thing though, as with customer services, people don't ring a company up to thank them for a good product, only to complain about something they didn't get, and is usually the case with any product.

You will always see people who are upset with something voice their opinions, whilst those that are content are usually quiet.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I would've just liked to see the general discussion thread to be filled with a bit more of: "Look at this silly/funny/perverted-argonian thing that I found here.", instead of "VR SUCKZ ESO IS DEAD", if you catch my drift.

But are you not technically doing the same as what bugs you here on the forums? It is a vicious cycle to try and not come here and make posts of this nature. It basically equates to complaining about those who complain.

Maybe initially, closer to launch day. Now however its just as tired as those complaining unconstructively about the game. It really offers nothing as a solution. The Mods have done a very good job in allowing people to vent about the game. It is the community who has done nothing constructive mostly when counter arguing or fanboi-ing it up.

I agree that there is a need for people to vent about their frustrations with the state of the game so long as it is constructive but for the most part on these forums it is not. It is all tantrum filled venom reflective of our culture in its worst form. Those who come here to honorably combat that by complaining about those people are only fanning the flames.

The solution would be to grab a post/quote and ask for specifics in such a way that you are offering them help as well as pointing out how childish/moronic they are sounding. It usually shuts them down.

What this current post does it brings out the trolls and monkeys and this thread eventually gets locked.

Unfortunately this is just the way. Much like people that are angry with politicians, they become the vocal but minority, however why does that same government get voted in again? Because of the non vocal majority

If you were to browse through the forums of WoW, you would come out thinking, "how did this game survive, let alone cap 12Million subscribers in it's heyday?"

When one comes to these and any other gaming forums, they need to put on their "perspective" cap and realize, this is where a good chunk of frustrated people come to vent, offering the illusion of many upset people, when really it is only a few in comparison to how many are playing the game

Me .. I come here for the entertainment, much like CNN's Disque and other gaming forums. I thoroughly enjoy what people have to say, positive or negative

Oh .. and it is something to do at work as people just see me typing :)

    +1 to the op.

If I could be playing right now I would. Which reminds me, the reason I come to the forums is to look at build ideas and discuss crafting. I let myself get drawn into the many waaah threads out of boredom. Not that some are not totally legit! But many really are just funny little temper tantrums.
I suppose I should just stick to the crafting forums, or stay out of the cry threads. It is just hard not to see what all the fuss is about! lol

The forums make up a small percentage of the players, even then people who post make up an even smaller percentage of those players. A majority of people who play most likely never come to the forums. I've noticed the same people complaining in almost every thread. It's "cool" to hate the new kid on the block on the web. Every MMO, even WoW, has had its share of forums warriors whose interest is "hating the new kid" and bashing it every way they can.

Now, that said, makes me come off as a defender with my eyes closed to the truth of the issues that have plagued ESO. I know there were bugs, game breaking bugs, at some points. I was frustrated, upset, even angry at points. I understand people were and are frustrated. I've had my fair share of problems, bank bug for 3 weeks, accidentally banned for 16 hours, VR progression halted by a bugged quest in Coldharbour and various other bugged quests along the way. However, each of these problems were addressed and fixed, some faster than others, but they were fixed. I still maintain my sub because I enjoy the game, I enjoy the game play and the world they have created.

I know there are still issues with the game, class balancing, gameplay issues revolving around weapon swap and others. But I maintain my faith that the Devs will fix and balance what they can in a timely manner. I want the game to succeed unlike others who go to every social media, public forum they can shouting as loud as they can that the game sucks. At that point it is no longer about the game, but about their Ego and how they are perceived as "cool" for jumping on some bandwagon that will change tracks when the next new mmo is released.

Do you really have to pick on everything that I say? Yes I've had progression blocking bugs, and yes I've had login problems, and yes I've seen some bots running around. They just don't make me feel like I have to come vent on the forums by making another random post about the problem that has been discussed a million times already. As to why I'm not playing the game, after playing for a few hours I decided to call it a quit for the evening and I decided to have a look at the forum. A little later I made this post, and somehow I really seem to have upset you by doing so.

If people, myself included, didn't feel passionately about this game, didn't think it did some things amazingly well, and just generally thought it sucked, you wouldn't see all these complaining threads. No one is going to bother posting a complaint thread about a game they don't enjoy. They'll just quit and move on to the next passtime.

I would never, ever have given a game this buggy a chance if it didn't absolutely blow me away as well. I would never play a game with this many design flaws if it didn't engage and amaze me as well.

So maybe, instead of seeing every complaint thread as entitled whiners wanting to vent and lower the tone of the community, you should see the complaint threads as passionate players who love this game and want it to succeed, who want to keep playing it into the future know it will fail if it doesn't improve drastically and soon.

Every complaint is, in a way, a compliment to the game. No one would bother to complain about a game they didn't love. They would just quit.

True, but repeating the same problem over and over again, or directly attacking the devs/zenimax/the game/the playerbase is a bit too much. Some people just like to hate for the sake of hating, and I can't say that I haven't been guilty of that for some other games in the past.

I've found that if I take a little break from the forums I enjoy the game more. Like the game is good enough, despite it's flaws, that some playtime can easily distract you from a number of the issues regularly ranted about here.

I think the biggest problem now is that so many people either can't log on or can't stay logged on, so they're frustrated and come to the forums to express that frustration. And, of course, anger begets anger... So being upset about not being able to log on quickly devolves into being upset about ever other comparatively minor issue.

I really hope Zeni issues some free playtime to folks who filed "unable to log on" bug reports. I know I'd be really upset if I were so afflicted and being asked to pay for it.
