If I don't pay to continue my subscription, will my characters be deleted?

I am not going to be able to afford to pay for my next month of game time when my payment is supposed to renew. I want to know how long I will have to pay for more game time. If I wait a month or longer, would my character data be deleted?

Orizuru✭✭✭All of the MMOs save your character data indefinitely because they want you to be able to resub and pick up where you left off. However, many other MMOs have been known to release the name of a character that hasn't logged in for a long time if a player who wants the name submits a ticket to see if the name can be made available. It doesn't happen often in MMOs and there is no guarantee that ZOS will allow this as far as I know, but I thought I would mention it none-the-less.
