can't login to the game and no answer from customer support!!!!

    Probably wont' help, but it did for me, so I figured I'll share.

    After a few days of frustration of not being able to login. Tried repairs, reinstallation, etc, etc. I finally gave up and cancelled my subscription. (I have about 2 weeks left)

    Afterwards, on another site looking at thread with the same problem, I found a solution that worked. In Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\Live directory is a UserSettings file, I changed the following line (pertains to graphics)

    SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11"

    I changed it to d3d10 and was finally able to get the character loading screen up. I'm not a game developer so I don't have a clue why I was able to get past a login and unable to connect to lobby errors with a graphics change, but hey, might be worth a shot.

    I think you just got lucky, as I don't think it has anything to do with dr10 or 11 - its something on their side..

    I'm going to bring this over from the thread I was directed to last night. For the purposes of furthing this discussion:
    I just spoke with two CSR's about the issue.

    Let me say that I definitely appreciate the politeness of the phone staff. Apparently my issue is being escalated, as neither could help me. I ended up calling out of frustration with the email I recieved this am which went right back to the very first thing I tried - the login to your account and accept the new TOS thing that doesn't exist.

    First call got disconnected while holding. So I called back and got a guy on the phone. Then another called me while I was on the call with the phone. So, I'm to understand that they've put priority on resolving this issue. The second guy must have done a callback based off of being disconnected while on hold.

    Anyway, my point is that they cannot help me resolve this. We went through everything that I'd recieved via email responses. Following this, I was informed that the matter has been escalated and the next tier guy will call me back. Waiting on that call.

    I'm curious though. dancing.in.the.webeb17_ESO mentions that unsubbing their account fixed the issue. Does this mean that cancelling a subscription bypasses the authentication issue? And if one does that then subscribes again; does the mysterious, non present, TOS we need to sign appear on the account page?

    I can confirm it is not my computer. Originally, I was on my Windows 7 Desktop PC when this happened.
    I put a new installation on my MacBook Pro. I can’t login with that computer either.

    I also changed my internet on my Macbook Pro, after the first attempt failed, to my AT&T 4G hotspot so I could be on a different and new connection to the internet.
    That failed as well.

    So we know it is not my computers or my internet.

    Well,

    After starting to become pretty irritated with this I canceled my subscription hoping that it might somehow change the login issue. That didn't work for me. So after doing all manner of things (some incredibly dumb that jeopardize security) I'm now fully convinced this is a ZOS created problem.

    This is crazy. Why is it that the login server hasn't been restarted?

    I have problem logging into the game. I had lot of problems with graphic till recent hotfix ( problems occurred after patch 1.1.2 ) and since than i didn't have any significant problems. Since yesterday afternoon i am receiving error Code 301:3:1:1229:90098. I was in Craglorn and running anomaly. In one moment i just get kick from server and when i tried to log in i got that error.
    I tried with waiting for half of hour , repair , tried with administrator thing, resetting router, switched off my antivirus software. All in all simply can't log in .
    I dont understand what caused this problem and probably there is more than one reason causing timeout login problem but it is obvious that for at least some of problems reason is sitting on server side coz some people who are unable to login on Eu server can login on US server.
    Pushing answer like sign TOS which is impossible coz we dont have button where to click is just making us ( unsatisfied customers ) even more angry . Even more some guys unsubbed so they can sign TOS again and that havent solve their timeout login problem.
    Appropriate ZOS reaction which takes for some guys like 5-6 days is totally unacceptable. Games are like drugs if something is unavailable then people will turn to something which is available.
    ZOS if u have - even painful solution to this problem - take it coz u are bleeding players and even sending message to non-affected players - You and your emotional investment is not safe with us.

    However, it seems like those locked out of the EU server can play on NA, and those locked out of NA server can play on EU.

    You can play.....just not with the characters you've spent your time advancing. :p

    Going on 2 days now since I submitted my ticket and the only thing I have gotten back from ZOS is a survey.

    Sad thing is I was still enjoying the game despite all the bugs, gold spammers, army of bots, phasing issues, broken class skills and myriad other problems however not receiving a response from customer service regarding a severe issue like this is where I draw the line. If I wanted to be ignored I would go to the bar and try talking to women.

    Get it together ZOS, your paying customers deserve better than this.

    Just received the last reply to my support ticket - by the third or fourth different attendant, I lost count - and it basically says, in that endearing pseudo-personal discourse of theirs, that they're sorry that I unsubscribed and they love me and that IF I AM STILL EXPERIENCING ANY ISSUES (lololololol) to "please respond to this e-mail." And the ticket status was changed to... wait for it.... SOLVED.

    So basically I replied, yes, saying to hell with that ***, that even if I unsubbed I had paid for 30 days of access and was only able to actually use 17, so I expect either a solution plus extension of my access period, or a refund.

    What the *** does ZOS think we are?!

    working in email customer service is hard because basically you are not allowed to respond with your own words. you are given a series of form letters and have to choose the best fit. if you expect any answers to questions when there are no answers, you are trying to live in a perfect world that society has not achieved yet.

    if you call in you'll get a polite answer, explanation, and attempts to help you in ways the emails cannot. all of it leads to waiting for the tech guys to figure it out tho in almost all cases. which sucks, but such is life. stop panicking and threatening and screaming and shouting over what is essentially nonessential to life. when they take your job, your food, your house, and your car, then riot. there wasn't this much negativity at a Tea Party Rally and those people are effin crazy.

    btw, not convinced this is server side despite all the efforts to say it is. try pinging the server and yeah nothing happens, but go to the log in screen and put in the wrong password and it hits the log-in server immediately and tells you its the wrong information. i feel like the user client wouldn't be storing the password to check before trying the log-in server cause that seems illogical but idk for sure.

    You know, guys what bugs me most?
    I invested two months time playing. I had(yes, past time, I dont believe I'll ever be able to play on EU server again) VR6 char, lvl40 and lvl20 chars. I made many friends, beside my countrymates and real life friends who play the game.
    I'm playing now on NA server(weirdly enough, I CAN connect there and its flawless). ALONE. I'm level 17 now, just moving out of Auridon.
    I saw VR12 player today. No, TWO of them!!! I guess, I'll need 2 more months to reach VR6+ level. I'm at point zero. I'm not sure can I bare it or not. Its a week till sub will draw money from my card.
    If this is not fixed, I'm gonna kick this game and whole franchise from my life. 4ever. Thats worse kick in the butt I may get while playing.
    And, thank got, I didnt upgraded to Imperial edition. Its not the money, its just abuse of not being able to play with your friends and the loss of SO MUCH TIME OF MY ONLY LIFE.

    What if I still live with it, invest another 2 months and then not being able to login into NA server too??!

    I still hope, but it goes away rapidly.

    P.S. And please fix the blood door in bank of Auridon, its really pissing me off getting stuck every bloody time I try to get in.

    I'm having the same problem and it's extremely frustrating.

    It's telling me my info is not correct yet I am able to log into account management on this website with that password. What gives?

    I am simply getting the message that "your account information is invalid" when trying to log in. I really am quite frustrated because this is happening on my two days off from work and I might not be able to play at all those days.

    Ive already stated what I was doing when it happened, numerous times ... but here goes again (keep in mind, I hate repeating myself).

    I sold 2 low level recipes to someone, was talking to my friend/guildmate and was jumping around when I went to jump on top of a box and then suddenly CTD'd. This was ~10:00pm EST on Monday night and since then, I could not login with the 301 error.

    Oh, by the way, if you guys dont already know, we have been dubbed "The 301'rs." Apparently weve involuntarily joined a brotherhood of forum trolls until we get to log back in and play. :p

    Just was curious if there was any relation to a certain zone, guess not and is completely random. I was Deshaan when I first got the error 301, but was fixed when the restarted the servers on Monday morning. Hope they find actual fix soon.

    Monday afternoon I was at a alchemy station when I had to afk as someone was at the door. Naturally i was kicked for inactivity and have been unable to get back on since. I do not think it is the zone rather the way you were disconnected from the game.

    I can't even log into the damn game. It keeps telling me my account information is incorrect. It has been a problem since yesterday and support still hasn't gotten back to me.

    Really really frustrated right now.

    Chiming in as another person unable to log in. No error, nothing - just an infinite load screen before I even get to character select. I have tried all of the suggested fixes, nothing has worked.

    Can't log in as well. There are several others who can't log in and get an "Unknown Error" that are in VR Deshaan.
