Everything on the title.
Bots are totally back.Lot of them, where are gone the gm who track them ?
Was it just a political action to get gm to ban them ?
There is some zone that are literally ( not even in dungeon ) full of bot not anymore place for player.
I keep reporting bot again and again but it look like Gm don't care anymore

Most GM's I've seen are agents of Sheogorath, no surprise that they're disappearing.

When do bots really ever go away from an MMO?
  • BretonicKnight
It's been extremely frustrating to catch a bot zooming through the ground node to node with a screenshot, file a report... and then see the exact same bot two days later doing the same thing.

There are so many bots, one GM in game banning them is like trying to whizz on a forest fire and expect it to extinguish the fire. :) They are back in full force, in the air, on the ground and under the ground. I report what I can and move on. Several quests I just abandoned because of the bots. They cause so much lag in dungeons you can't do the quest.

Yes, there are bots in most games but they're usually in dwindling numbers as CS actively kills them off and bans the players. In ESO sadly the number of bots is increasing, every time. Coldharbor is FULL of already veteran rank bots who grind day in and day out and nothing is done to them. Pretty obvious that they're being "leveled up" for Craglorn but ZM seems to be oblivious to that fact. Soon there will be gold seller mails offering to sell the epic loot from latest content and areas. That's when it's time to say with ol' Palpatine's voice "Now your failure is complete Zenimax!"

GM's still come into zone's to hunt them. Before I got the Timeout/Error 301 bug and became unable to currently play the game, there was a GM hunting announcement and it was my PLEASURE to help them hunt down quite a few in the area.

ah all the gm would need to do is do some questing in coldharbour maby try to pick up some nodes and he would see about 100 or more bots just flying trough the air and witness the nodes dissapear not to mention since i cant eaven see the names of the bots anymore i just gave up on reportin them.

not to mention the Gm sending out a loud tell when he arives in an area hey im banning bots for the next 20 minutes helps to catch them since most of the ones that people monitor goes into hiding or logs out before the gm starts his work.

you could come up with all the hints and good will to help that won't do squat...
Zeni decided to do it theire way and we are clearely not being listened.

They refuse to coment because it would only turn into arguing.

Of course non-stop GMing is the only way to go.

Make the gold sellers' life a nightmare and they will give up. Sure they will resist... but with old school GMing you don't have to come up w/ a new super(or not) mechanic to (not) stop them every time they pull a new card from theire sleeves... you just stop them.

And don't simply ban the farming bots... ban any accounts related to it : Find the mules, destroy the gold, motifs and upgrade materials stocks, etc...
When botters only waste time and can't make incomes anymore... they moove on... like any human being...

But it requires a team dedicated to it ! (a very fiew poeples are enought if they got the correct tools and if they know what to do)

ESO, the great nothing : no PvE difficulty, PvP lags, zero RP tools...

    Sub Canceled, gone

When do bots really ever go away from an MMO?
In most games they never do. Turbine have been the most successful I've come across is stamping them out almost to extinction through determined efforts at implementing anti-bot mechanics in LOTRO and a massive account banning effort .. they also BANNED MANY BUYERS and put the fear of God into the rest so RMT's market largely dried up.

At the other end of the scale we have ZOS who baked hackability into their core client/server design and now seem totally clueless how to deal with it. It is absolutely no exaggeration that botting in ESO is orders of magnitude worse than any other game I've played, and that includes FFXI where RMT nearly destroyed the game's economy during late 2005 and botters severely damaged the 'HNM' game feature .. the game's world raid boss mechanic .. for years with their 'claim bots' etc.

They have virurally vanished in ffxiv. And in ffxi the only botters left are fishing bots. Even those die to often to make effictive gold.

Ffxiv had bots under ground catching resources. Not no more.
They took care of the problem. Why cant zos. And I never seen a flying bot in those games either.

They have software if you move to fast. Flee or speed hac, the serber picks it up. Do it a few times the account is banned.

They can give out reports how many accounts baned and how much gold taken off the market.

Why can't we. This game is newer then any. They are also not to poor to have 24 hour gms. Every sub mmo has gms.

We wsnt our 24 hour gm!

Lets make a stand not one more monthly sub we will pay until 24 hour gms are included in our subs! Gor eso love, if you want this game to succeed you know I am right and you must support this.

I was so excited for this game, still am, but my sub won't be renewed next month if the bot problem isn't addressed. That's not idle rant "I'll quit blah blah blah..." I will not pay to play a game that is infested with botters whose only purpose is to relieve players of their cash, inflate the in-game economy and make playing the game really frustrating.

The numbers of bots has skyrocketed over the last week, it's ridiculous! And what have ZoS to say on the matter?

    ...shhhhh.... listen.... yup, NOTHING!

24/7 GM bot banning is the only way this will be fixed. Hire a team of interns, give them the ability to kill/ban and then let them go to town.

They could even turn it into an in game event with rewards. Help catch 20 bots, receive a title. Help catch 50, receive an appearance item etc.

Help catch 50 and get TCL"no clip" ability! Or so other useful skill like waterwalking.
