QUEST BUG - TAKING PRECAUTIONS

In the quest, Taking Precautions which occurs in Stonefalls,Sergeant Gjorring (guy in the picture above) is missing. I need him to continue the quest.

He began missing after i retook Fort Virak and killed General Sirien. Seriously,i have reported this bug for over 7 days now but they have not fixed it.

If i cannot complete this quest, then all the quests in Kragenmoor become unavailable to me. Alot of prominent quests become unavailable in Stonefalls since they are linked. This quest line even continues onto towards the next province.

Has this bug occurred to you too?

I also have this problem, I suspect we leap frogged the quest but will now be unable to get the questing check mark... Silly Zenimax!

So even after almost a month, they still have not fixed the bug!? Don't they see how serious this bug is?

Almost a quarter of the quests become unavailable if this quest is bugged!

Why on earth did they make the npc characters responsible for that quest change positions like that anyway? Couldn't they see that a bug was bound to happen there like that?

Someone needs to bump this thread because it seems that this bug has not gotten Zenimax's attention.

Spoke to costumer support but they say the same damn copy and pasted crap. "Relog" or "abandon quest". Abandoning the quest makes it worse as you cannot do the quest again!

Anyway i hope the meme i posted on the first post amuses everyone here.

I've tried everything I can think of except abandoning the quest, Relogging, /reloadui. zoning out/in via wayshrines, completing all of the other quests in that zone that I could find, doing quests in other zones, combinations of all of these things and unfortunately nothing has worked.

Whatever you do,do not abandon the quest. The starting npc who gives the quest at the first place, disappears if you do.

Thanks for the warning. I would probably have tried that if I had not read your previous post.

Basically what happens is that when you first go to the entrance of Tormented Spire, you will meet with a female argonian known as "Sees-Many-Paths". She will then start the quest.

Problem is,if you have done the other quest where you took back Fort Virak before speaking to "Sergeant Gjorring", this will cause "Sees-Many-Paths" to disappear and become replaced with Hulgen and his soldiers.

So if you restart the "Taking Precautions" quest, npc "Sees-Many-Paths" will still not return to make the quest restart.

It was obvious a bug was going to happen here like that tbh.

Here is the reply I received from support. Of course, none of this works.
    Greetings Tom!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience during the quest Taking Precautions, Tom. Well today is your lucy day traveler, I just received a solution for this issue. So try these steps out, and if still no good results feel free to contact me again. I am here to help you through your travels through Tamriel. Also I want to Thank you for reporting this issue. We are currently working on developing a permanent fix for this that will be implemented in a future patch.
In the meantime, we recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

Typing /reloadui in your chatbox, for graphics or user-interface issues.
Typing /camp in your chatbox, which logs you out. By waiting 15 minutes before logging back in, you are performing a soft-reset which will clear out the cache and allow the game to load properly.
You can venture off to complete other quests, allowing time to pass and the greater possibility of the sergeant having respawned.
It is also possible that you can return with a party and attempt the quest with a fresh start (after sharing the quest via group tab).
As a last resort you can try abandoning the quest and re-acquire it, restarting the instance that way.

    Hail Tom!

I am sorry that you have run into a bug during your quest, I play the game myself and I know how frustrating some of the bugs can be.

I think that some of your side quests are conflicting with the NPC spawner on this quest. Could you please complete as many other quests from your journal as you can, and then return to this bugged quest and try it again.

I believe this will fix the problem right away and you will then be able to move forward.

Let me know how it goes!
    Nelson
