Thwarting the Aldmeri Dominion bugged and exploited

The Thwarting the Aldmeri Dominion quest in Alik'r Desert is currently stuck in it's last phase. The portal isn't closing and enemies keep spawning so people are just farming it for infinite loot and XP. I reported it in game, but I feel it was necessary to post it here, especially since people seem to be trying to keep it down so they don't fix it.

I tried this past patch 1.1.2 and can confirm that this seems to be bugged.
I spent with an other player about 15 minutes killing wave after wave of spawning enemies until we finally deceided to give up.

Just got there myself. I've destroyed whole AD army there already and nothing happens. Portal is open and they just keep coming. VR4 version of the quest here.

Trying this quest now & as stated above the enemy keep spawning with a group of players there fighting. I do not know how long these players have been at the portal but I spent a good 10 minutes fighting and watching.

Unable to finish quest also. Wave after wave of NPCs keep coming and Lady Laurent never closes the portal. I killed at least a 100 of them.

Same here killed them for 15 minutes got bored and moved onto the next quest...I did get a purple though in those 15 minutes so totally worth it!

I had wondered if it was bugged or not instancing properly. constant respawn and portal does not close.

Same deal, endless swarm of Dominion soldiers. Seemed to be a mix of bots and players farming it. Needs a fix.

Its bugged not sure if its bots or not. Seems like mostly players exploiting the easy exp and loot drops. Even heard a couple bragging about the number of purple drops they had gotten in there. Nice to see ZoS will keep a bugged quest up and running to be exploited....

Apparently zenimax has "fixed" the bug by not even letting you talk to lady laurent to start the mobs coming out of the portal. Yet another brilliant solution. Sigh

It's also a bug. I managed to finish this quest yesterday. There was noone there and i was able to talk to her and finish this quest. Seems like infinte spawn happens when someone else is joining you in the same instance while you are defending.
