VR Difficulty change?

    Hey guys, just letting you know that this issue has been hotfixed, and VR content has been reverted back to the same difficulty prior to patch 1.1.2.

    Yes still a mess. Congrats you have finally made grinding bosses and mobs in Craglorn for hours more effective and enjoyable then questing.I do not see myself finishing the VR questlines anymore. It was fun while it lasted.

    Yeah lol, off to Craglorn. Was looking forward to finishing my last VR10 quests, but it just seems unbalanced. These skeletons, draugur or whatever are tearing me up.

    Still not completely fixed in 50++ zones.
    EP VR9 Malabar Tor has way too many imbalances.
    Identical NPCs will have massive differences in HP and Damage outputs.

    Balancing the game with this level of stupid difficulty may be fun for your top-end, elite gamers... but it pisses off the rest of us. I don't even wanna play anymore.

    No thanks. I only did a few quests before the hotfix and died about 5 times to random spiders and I'm a vr10 tank. At least now I actually feel like a tank.

    The simple fact is many people have already left because they found some PvE things in VR content too hard. Some even left before VR.
    They then screwed the pooch completely and made things twice as hard.
    Now they say it's fixed and the ones that actually hung around and said it's bearable still find it harder.
    It is not the same, it sure ain't easier for those who left or are thinking of leaving, it is in fact still randomly harder and just a lottery on what you will run into and how it could kill you in two hits.

    Gina, there's no change. VR5 content is identical now (as of this posting time/date) as it was as soon as 1.1.2 went live.

    What changes, specifically, were in the hotfix? Physical attack damage output from monsters is the same. Hit points remain the same. Ability damage from monsters is the same.

    Is there some other hidden measure of "difficulty" that doesn't relate to damage output, hit points, etc, that you're referring to?

    Vet mobs in VR2 are also unchanged and just as hard.

    I have a harder time fighting two even-level VR5 skeletons than I did fighting friggin' Molag Bal.
    Hell I can defeat other PLAYERS easier than two VR5 skeletons and I suck at PvP. Whack, son.

    Confirmed. mob health and damage are still the same as patch. hell, you can break it sure enough, but you can't fix it.

    Next time you guys tell us it's fixed, please make sure you go in and test it first. for love of pete...anytime i make a change to my network, i have to do a dozen test afterwords to make sure it all lines up.

    did someone change a few scripts and log off? This is almost embarrassing....

    I too can gimmick out any fight some snobs are saying they have no trouble with. I just load my bar full of just cc and chain cc until it stops moving. Also dark cloak really allows you to control a fight well. Doesn't mean I should have to avoid every hit because it will be my death.

    I totally accept this level of difficulty for bosses and group content. But mobs in the open world one shot a defensive build is amateur development. Work the bugs before releasing content please. I loaded up my account screen to unsubscribe but decided to give you another couple days.

    Could it be that the mobs have to be killed once to respawn with the proper and intended values? Just an idea out of the blue since I doubt that Zenimax would have said they applied a hotfix, else.

    Maybe someone did change the values but forgot to kill the current population and enforce its respawn if that is how the system works in the first place.

    Also to whoever said "I wonder if the Hero Engine.." - Yeah. Uh. If only this was a game using it :P

    Sometimes hotfixes like this won't fully kick in until there is a server restart. Just give it a bit.

    The severs dont restart for another 4 days..

    Same problem still exists for me. I am still stuck in a solo instanced quest with a mob of 3 (a healer, a DPS mage and a tank/DPS melee). I have tried multiple combinations of skill lines, I'm unable to even kill the healer. Again, I'm a dedicated PvE tank, slightly overcharged on armor and magic resist, but I get killed like a little cookie.

    Stealth attack barely scratches the mobs now, before this patch it was almost a one bomb then a melee to kill the 2 other mobs. Now its a desperate fight to kill 3 mobs, there is no margin for error, and even if you play like Jack Bauer, you can still get owned.

    So yeah, it's not true when you say its reverted. Strange of you to say that when it's clearly not the case.

    Please explain!

    Let me explain. When Zen say they have 'fixed' something they mean they've dickered around with the code a bit so they assume it's 'problem solved'. It's not actually tested to see if it is in fact solved and it's not tested to see what else hey might have broken while fixing anything.

    That's our job.

    uppercut and heavy attack are charged skills, furthermore they are probably critical strikes. However, you can dodge, block or interrupt them. I would expect most charged attacks to hurt like hell in high level content if you don't get out of their way. Them numbers are too high though and need toning back, but not to /faceroll levels.

    Do you think it is normal that a regular skeleton NPC has a heavy attack that can do 1950 damage? I would love to do that much damage with a heavy attack.

    Man that was a tough session.

    At first I felt like the enemies were back to pre-patch, but then as I got into it 3+ mobs were just hard. I couldn't solo above 3 of them, thank god that people were in a helpful mood and I found a few good groups to run with.

    Is it in my head, or did I just happen to have a bad session?

    My answers obviously yes. If you decide not to block or dodge a mobs slow wind up skill you deserve all that hp ripped out.

    The times i died to mob groups during the period of difficulty increase was cuz i didnt block a power attack. I said to myself man i should have blocked that uppercut.

    It was the same sa fighting the harder boss type giants where standing right in the path of their ground wave attack would get you 1-shotted, even in full heavy armor and i liked that.

    It was much more fun to havr to think about the entire encounter, and to have to worry about what the other enemies in the encounter are doing and not being all like `meh, i'll get to youl later`. And proceed to destroy them.

    Tho i couldtnt immagine frost/storm atochs or harvesters during that increased dificulty time. :dizzy_face:

    Imagine this...3 mobs, one starts firing up a heavy spell against you, one starts doing a heavy attack, the other starts a volley in your location.

    What can you do buy die?

    It's even worse if there is a healer who undoes all your damage. I can't even kill a healer with Soulstrike, and I'm Vet2.

    Yeah, I'd consider this game to be unplayable now.
    So it isn't just me? I got my arse handed to me repeatedly and I thought I was doing something wrong. While it's good to know that it isn't just me, it's sad because now it's just too difficult for me and dying repeatedly when there's NO hope of winning the battle is absolutely no fun.

    I did discuss this with customer service and they said we should use /feedback to comment about it. They said to include area, type of enemy/monster, and a bit about your build.

    I think the comment about them pandering to the MMO freaks who won't be in it for the long run is spot on. I could see myself playing this game for a very long time IF they could only make it so I'd have a ghost of a chance again...
