I guess the people of tamriel finally learned that you don't keep perishable food inside of desks and cabinets. This change will be good for roleplayers.

The patch notes mention that they "toned down" (nerfed) the rate of loot from furniture containers.

    Within; Without.

Yes, they did mention that. My concern is in being able to find things I would need to advance provisioning and gather motifs. Recent changes have made getting motifs rather difficult. This change on the surface at least seems to exacerbate that issue.

I'm guessing these horrid gold selling sites are about to see an increase in thier sales. Which will only embolden them to hack/eploit the game more.

In short, my opinion is that changes like these hurt the playerbase badly while rewarding the exploiters/botters/cheaters. Lowering the drop possibilities means little to bot program running automated scripts.

There has been much said regarding making those motifs bound to account. Call me crazy, but that would have been a far less damaging and overall effective solution.

If true this is truly fubar'd; now if we would get reliable drops off of mobs I wouldn't care but I have never gotten a lockpick off a mob and rarely a recipe or and never a motif or material of any description off a mob.

[edit : my many complaints still stand about lack of certain kinds of drops off of mobs. However, now that I have had chance to test motif / recipe drop rate seems similar to before the patch. The OP probably just had bad luck with the RNG.]

My guess is that with access to Motifs and Recipe's cut off and the gold seller/botter population already loaded with a full deck, the self-fulfilling prophecy will fulfill.

I respec'd out of provisioning because I couldn't even find purple recipes. Besides not having food/drink active at same time reduces usefulness of provisioning, making food/drink almost like 2 different skills instead of part of the same skill, but I digress.

My real concern is the model of allowing the ill-gotten gains and exploiters to continue to benefit from their dubious and illicit behavior.

The note about tightening the drop rate for motifs and recipes where already in effect. They added it to these notes to let everyone know. This was confirmed by one of the Admins. According to the notes also there should not be any empty containers upon opening, which was a bug and addressed in this patch according to the notes. I would /bug the issue.

I guess as long as the botters/RMT sellers are happy, ZOS has accomplished their mission.

At least, an outsider would get that impression, given the changes up to this point have done nothing BUT benefit botters at every turn.

I never find recipes in the guild store! (sorry I found a blue one once) The only way to get purple apparently is buy from exploiters.

That is hilarious! They "slightly reduced" drop rates by removing the loot entirely. Genius! Man, I needed a good laugh today! This will probably put the bots owners in a tizzy trying to figure out what happened to all the loot. Thanks who ever came up with this idea.

If they keep nerfing the drop rate there isn't going to be any reason for me to keep playing because I am never going to get the items I need to increase my crafting skills.

At this point, ZOS might as well pull this game off the market, reprogram it and release as a single player game.

As others have stated, at every turn ZOS's decisions have done nothing BUT hurt the player base and give advantage after advantage to the bots, which tells me that THEY are ZOS's real customer base.
Far too many characters to list any more.

Zenimax really does continue to bolster the gold-seller's and botter's business with every "fix" regarding material and especially motif drop rates. It's disgusting.

They did not add an addition Nerf to the drop rate. The decrease noted in the Patch Notes was already on the public servers weeks ago.

Also I thought everything was empty as well till I noticed that my loot listing addon for the auto loot was no longer working as it was out of date. Updated it and started seeing the loot again.

the Cupboards on the walls the small cabinets are just about impossible for me to get I have to jump and time the "E" at just the right time to open them and it does not help I made a VERY short wood elf for the purpose of being very small target in pvp lol.....

This I hope is not suppose to be a fix or something but A bug...

or worst yet a Nerf that was not posted....

I also still notice Items that show "Full" that can be looted and are still empty what gives with this though they stated that it will be fixed today

Note: Pawkette's Lootdrop add-on is showing as "version out of date", and does not display items that you loot unless a) you allow out of date versions in the add-ons settings, AND b) do a /Reloadui. Or update the add-on, I guess.

I was still getting stuff from containers, just not seeing it via the add-on. Make sure you don't confuse these issues.

Not to stoke the conspiracy theorists but I am starting to wonder if ZOS operates a massive bot farm and gold selling operation in order to serve as a supplemental revenue stream. It also gives players an us vs. them enemy to throw them off the scent and distract from the other, far more pressing problems within the game.

why would they need bot... just ".additem xxxxx 12000" and you get 12000 daedric racial motif, or some other GM command
