    Haha...I used to play SWG on dial-up from Thailand and still beat people in PvP. You can roll with the lag sometimes if you train hard enough :P

    Look a few posts up... the patch is 5.43 gigs in total for the English client.

    I just tested my speed because I couldn't imagine why I'd be downloading at 500kbs. I get a solid 26.58mbs down and almost 6 up. Why is the download from ESO so slow? I've already finished lunch, made tea and walked the dogs. Still loading.

    My first was slower than that. Used to use Bulletin Boards back in about 1994, forget the speed but it was below a 1000. Used to take about 20 mins to load a 39kb jpeg. I had a zx-80 which as my first computer and I built it in kit form at age 9. Amazing what we could code into 1kb of memory and the 16\48\128kb

    *sigh* 90% here...0420hrs and a bottle of whiskey down lol

    I won't sleep until it's done. I'm lvl 48 on my main so not chomping at the bit for the new vet dungeons. Interested to see how the other features pan out though. A bit scared for my NB but pretty pleased at how much work they have done on everything else. Quite a massive effort when you look at it.

    I started my MMO'ing days when all there was, was dialup except for the one or two nerds who bragged about T1 direct lines to their modem...yeah right.

    Back in those days in MMO's like Ultima Online you could loose all your gear due to a lag in PvP combat and you had to have the "balls" to be able to roll with that and come back and try to get your gear back from the dude who lag killed you later...

    I actually miss those days though going back might not be as cool as it seems like it might be but I do miss MMO's that actually had full loot consequences and a proper justice system in it that actually made it HARD to be able to play on the wrong side of the law...

    Okay, so does the patch automatically download itself? I don't have an option? Is this just an MMO thing (because I am new to them)...? It's ridiculous how long a freaking update takes. Hours and hours of downloading, almost as long as downloading the original game to my PC which doesn't have this trouble with other games... Are we going to have to do this often?

    Sigh.

    I have the same speed going, but the nice thing is the applying patch process is fairly quick. To get to 25% took over an hour, then around 25% to 70ish% took about 15 min, and now I'm downloading the second part of the patch, so probably another hour to hour and a half...So I guess your 3 hour prediction wasn't wrong, haha.
