DK's are nerfed really hard with the new patch. DK Fire Mage or Shield build is dead. Inhale useless

    He is making a good point, without the magicka regen DKs like myself that roll destro staff for mob grinding will have to reroll skills because as he said we will be mana effed and stuck at melee range with a staff, no mana and no way to escape combat and no damage mitigation since we are technically a mage at that point.

    I don't think they were "nerfed into the ground" as he said but it is going to make it so DKs have to rethink their builds for sure.

    Not necessarily a bad thing, but for all the people that think DKs are way too powerful and the "master class" wait until sorc starts dominating in Cyrodiil after this patch. I guarantee it will not be long before we start hearing about how they are too powerful and need to be "balanced" since they already are.

    Shield bash damage nerfed, 3 second cooldown on bash, and bash costing more is a huge nerf to your build.

    Not being able to spam shield bash will probably save you stamina in the end. The damage on a successful interrupt was increased...

    They didn't take impulse or elemental drain away. Every class-build that use them will be affected... somewhat. I doubt it will make a big difference.

    If we see fewer video's of DK's roflpwning content.... that'll be considered an improvement.

    DKs got magicka regen from elemental drain + DoTs + Cinder ticks + Inferno ticks. This no longer works, and Impulse cost is increased.
    Magicka will be a huge problem for DKs after this nerf :)

    When I'm low on magicka I weapon swap to stam-based 1h &shield attacks... pop a magicka pot, then I switch back.

    It actually works pretty well. I haven't wanted to give up a spot for Elemental Drain because I like the rotation I currently use and it works well. My main is an alchemist so, magicka + spell power/crit pots work really well too...

    I don't think "it's all over" for dk's.

    I'm a DK.

    These nerfs were needed and not overwhelming. It'll still be a good class. Look at all the abilities that still do the same thing when used and are all amazing:

    Reflective Scales
    Dragon's Blood
    Whip
    Chains (getting S&M themed here)
    Magma Armor
    Banner

    Yes, you're down to using your ulti as much as other classes. Yes Talons took a hit. Yes Impulse spamming took a hit.

    But you know what? They had it coming. If you weren't already planning on your build changing with these patches, then you're a shortsighted fool and I look forward to rolling you.

    My main is a dk and I don't have a problem with any of the nerfs except inhale, that skill was only useful when fighting packs with over 4 or 5 mobs in it, now that its nerfed to hit 3 its completely useless.

    I like how everyone is saying OMG DK's are nerfed to hell and back or the other side saying yay DK's can die in nerf hell so I can be FOTM. SInce we havent played with the new patch installed how do any of you know this? ZOS says a lot of things but I need to see it first... IE we are reducing motif drops slightly, lol slightly means 200%. On the other hand ZOS says, we are currently working on the BOT problem and we see how thats worked out. Until you play the patch noone knows how bad things are or are not.
    Just a spoonful of moon sugar helps the medicine go down.

    I don't see a issue with DK's after reading the patch notes. I enjoy playing on my DK and still will once I get back on the game. I see nothing to complain about.

    I played a Vamp NB to VR10 pretty much solo. I rerolled a DK 1h / Shield healer hybrid and it is almost obscene how OP and easymode it is now. Nothing in this "nerf" will effect me either. I suggest the OP respec and do some research on a different build. As it is now, I can pretty much solo every world boss / Delve (including the group delves) and I am only level 25.

    P.S. After playing a NB to VR10, playing a one legged chicken with 1 wing tied behind its back would be easier at this point :D

    Isn't the bash damage reduction/stamina cost reduction patch 1.6? I never noticed any cooldown on using bash, although since those last few patches it has done a bit less damage.

    I'm fine with the talons nerf, although let's hope no one gets thrashed by dungeon mobs because they're out of dk range.
    I'm just a banana from another dimension.

    Wait until you actually play the changes before you overreact. I think it's safe to say the DK needed some adjustments. I play a Templar healer main, but have a DK destro alt, and the difference is night & day. I was solo'ing level 31 dungeons at level 26 with the DK, bosses included. Groups of 3 mobs were going down in 4 seconds tops. Groups of 5 or 6 had the same result. I'll wait to play him before I throw in the towel, lol. I'm betting he's still on par or better than every other class.

    They had good synergy with Destro staff!
    These are the abilities that DK's were strong with.
    Without these abilities, they have no use and can't do it even remotely close any more.

    The fire mage builds/AoE DK builds DEPENDED on Destro staff Impulse, elemental drain magicka regen etc to work, otherwise they run out of magicka in a few seconds and sit there stupid getting kited with zero magicka regen, while sorcerors Escape Bolt around (which now also stuns AND absorbs spells).

    Its not the shield bash. Its the interupting bash skill (right + left click) Shield bash from the shield skill line is not on a 3second cool down. same for the damage from interupting vs not interupting, this applies to the Bashing interupt skill, not the shield line shield

    Yes Inhale nerf was too much. 3 target cap on absorb makes the already low AoE dmg more worthless for such a high cost.

    It wasn't even a pure nerf.

    It was a mix of nerfs and buffs.

    Honestly, DK could use a few more nerfs (especially Dragon's Blood and Reflective Scales.)

    Don't even get me started on their passives, which are the best passives in the game bar none.

    I think people are getting trolled and do not realize it. The OP can not be serious.

    The biggest change I see to DKs that will allow me to kill them more often in PvP is dodge rolling out of roots. DKs who drops a standard on me will no longer be able to spam talons and keep me rooted anymore. At most 2-3 dodge rolls will clear me of it.

    Only nerf I wanted to see is something with Bolt Escape. Most irritating ability in game.

    OP DK builds get a little tweaking/nerfing and they start complaining. Pure gold. These are nerfs that were needed and you know it. Now you can no longer faceroll stuff while eating a hotdog and watching Game of Thrones at the same time.

    I'm a DK and I don't use a shield, talons, or Destro Staff...and I can say, I'm very happy about the nerf (at least what's published so far in the patch notes)! Good riddance to all you shield bashers out there (in any class). I'll sing my praises long and loud: "Shields are and never were killing weapons! Swords, axes, etc. are." Really hoping this patch cuts down on Talon abuse as well and those awful looking shield bashers (honestly, can you name 1 thing in this game that looks WORSE than seeing someone just pump their shield like an idiot with no skill? lol)

    Leeching strikes is probably the most OP ability in the game. But you don't see cries for nerfs because it doesn't kill people in PvP.

    The best craglorn group is going to be 12 nightblades just wait.

    Yes, Inhale was overnerfed.
    Inhale never was a real problem to begin with, Batswarm was.
    With the AoE cap of 6 it would be enough. Now Inhale is just a extremely expensive and a useless ability
