Unresponsiveness is unacceptable

It's really pushing me to cancel my subscription, click weapon swap to bow for knock back... oh, nope nope it didn't change I've teleported into him instead. When it does change it's 3 seconds later, a life time in PVP.

It's not my PC, it's not the lag as such, it's the game is simply unresponsive, this includes things like bow attacks getting stuck or stuttering.

Yup, also some of the skills don't activate mid combat, especially when you're walking. But i agree, weapon swapping is the worst, i never count on swtiching weapons midfight while it SHOULD be main feature of ESO combat

I agree. It's one of the reasons I canceled my subscription and only log in to feed my horse on days that I care enough to do so. It constantly feels like I am fighting against the game and all it's issues rather than my enemies.

*More smooth and responsive, or actually work? Because *more smooth isn't very reassuring considering the weapon swap thing is a complete fail 99% of the time.

    You did bother to read the link provided didn't you? The answer is there;
Weapon Swapping – We’ve seen your feedback that weapon swapping lags during combat, and we are currently testing a fix that significantly improves the responsiveness. As this is caused by a number of different factors, we want to be confident in the change before pushing it live.

Exactly. The only thing that makes ESO a challenge is the fact that the game's choppy combat animations, key strokes, and basic ability to respond in a timely fashion to inputs are frequently the cause of my character's demise.

I won't subscribe to gameplay that functions this poorly. I've never played anything like this before. Combat is not a good experience. I want to blame myself for my own deaths. Not the game.

Yes, but I want to hear they fixed it 100% so weapons actually swap when we say so.

Thank you, but it does go beyond this. If I'm frank, this is a triple A game and it feels like a bad indy game at times, it's not just weapon swap it's simple things like shooting the bow, only to stutter or get stuck in an animation. Even sprinting on your horse can be hit and miss at times, EVEN sprinting in combat can often delay. It's like the game doesn't seem to get that if I hit sprint then I did it for a damn good reason and I'd kinda like you to stop doing what you were doing so that I can sprint away now.

I dodge roll, then sprint and there is a short moment of simple running before you start to sprint.

From what I have read, the responsiveness is better with the 1.1.1 patch and the PTS. We can only hope. I played a lot yesterday and I lost count of how many times I pressed an ability, only for it to do nothing. I've gotten into the habit of almost mashing keys just to make sure an ability fires...

I have given up the bow on my characters. Too often I cannot use any skills for up to 5 seconds after using the bow. Those 5 seconds can mean defeat many times.

So as the OP states, ZOS is just so unresponsive, right? Even though i read this clearly on the 14th or 15th.

    Yeah, that's being so unresponsive.

They're working on it, and no video game has the magic button for an instant fix. Would you rather them not work on it at all, and not even acknowledge it?

Overall the delays in casting and attacks becoming visible is very annoying. Although at is point I find it hard to tell if it's a bug issue with the game itself or that it is something caused by the EU servers still being in the US, which means it's just network lag.

In any case it's frustrating and will get you killed from time to time. Luckily for me it's not a continuous issue, but something that will happen occasionally.

Same with me, it doesn't happen too often, but when it does it seems to be when i need to change quickly, as I tank and switch back and forth, for my 1st "skill bar" is my attacks and aoe/cc, & my other is buffs and the likes.

Needing to switch back and forth when i can't usually only happens when i need it to switch most :P, which then leaves me with running frantically.

I was asking for reassurance they have 100% fixed it, not a vague promise they "are working on it" and might have something that makes it a little better.

I did not ask for an instant fix, the game has been in beta over a year and been released over a month.

    .....................er wut?

LOL. Dunno why I'm replying to this, but okay.

THE GAME IS UNRESPONSIVE. Press your weapon swap button on a EU server and you'll swap weapon 3 secounds later. Press a bow attack, it'll stutter, get stuck or sometimes not even work at all. The GAME is unresponsive. The GAME.

No one, the OP (me) most of all, said ZOS is unresponsive.

Not ZOS replying to threads or issues. The GAME.

Honestly, no idea how some people manage to do real life work sometimes.

It's not a bug as much as it's a communication lag between the client and the megaserver.

I'm in the US, and it happens to me...so, if it's lag, it's not dependent on proximity to the server.

This is all part of the game.

The real question is why would you continue to play and pay for a game where the lag is that bad. Once I got to Cyrodiil I was happy Then after a few days the fact that I would use an ability and it wouldn't proc for 3 or 4 seconds and weapon swap sometimes up to 10 seconds, made me wake up and cancel my subscription. Who in their right mind would pay for or play a game when you use an ability it doesn't work ? I may come back if they get it all working but I'm out until they do. There are much better games to play than ESO right now.

With only 5 skills on the bar quick weapon swapping is essential.
If they can't get weapon swapping right let us put more skills on our bar.

If we are talking about the bow, I'd like them to look into Snipe. If I accidently hit it while fighting a mob I can't use it on, it wants to still go through the animation and I'm stuck running around like a loon because I can't use any other skill!

And yes, I've seen the other animations with my bow skill that just don't want to go off, especially Venom Arrow.
