BUG: People can't whisper to me

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this issue, but this is really starting to get annoying. People just can't whisper to me. Other players must invite me to group to talk with me. I hope to get a fix to this. I have already made bug reports couple weeks ago, but nothing has changed.

Blackwolfe5✭✭✭Did you try adding a , after the name? My Nightblade is named Jonathan Blackwolfe. If you would want to whisper my char it would be /w Jonathan Blackwolfe, (at which point it switches to whisper) blablablabla. Basically, the comma indicates the end of a name.
If your character has a two word name for example, people need to use a comma after entering your name.

People can't whisper to me in any ways. This has continued about 3 or 4 weeks now.Been playing since betas 20140 -

it seems if you use any special characters, the whisper fails....oddly enough, it says "account not found"0 -

Actually it's good advice and something which you *may* have overlooked.
You can set your status (using the little man icon) to a few options, one of them being 'offline'. If it is grey and set to 'offline' you will not be able to receive whispers. You probably knew all this but as you didn't mention it specifically before it's no fault of the poster to suggest it.
I wouldn't be so quick to berate people who have taken time out to try and help you in future.Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll...

i never asked for help, all i did was point out that i have the same issue as the OP.

cjmarsh725b14_ESO✭✭✭✭I've had this problem as well, and seen it affect others too. When someone is affected they can't send or receive whispers. I have no idea what causes it, but a relog seems to fix it.0

Hit O or G (if you are in a guild) and check your status next to your name. Make sure it's green and you are "online." Otherwise no one will be able to message you or see you on friends/guild roster.
This would be the first thing I would check. I have had this happen to me before without changing my status.I got killed in pvp, nerf everything...0 -
Lucifer108✭✭I personally dont have this problem , but I have run into loads of people who have. A temp solution seems to be to invite who cant be whispered into a group adn instead talk in group chat. This is mainly from a peddling wares standpoint mind you. Hope it gets fixed for u guys soon.0

Xeniph✭✭✭✭✭You might also check your status in the social tab. For those that didn't know you can set statuses like:
Away from keyboard
Offline
Private time
If you have your status set to offline, you are able to whisper folks, however they can't whisper back. It's worth checking.

If you posted here that means you really don't know what the issue is, so YOU ARE asking for a solution, even if it is for your friend. Not changing your own status means nothing, my officers recruited a person to the guild 3 hours before I logged in. That person was showing for me as 12 days offline on the guild rooster, so I kicked it for inactivity (without realizing it was just recruited hours before). Once I notice the inconsistency, I invited this person back and sure enough, it join back but was still showing as offline for 12 days, so I try to whisper him and I got no response, until I actually call them on guild chat.
Guess what the kicker is? It was never set by the player to be offline and he played for 12 days in offline mode getting no pm's or nothing.
Before you question someone's advice here, give them the benefit of the doubt as they may be solving your issue. This is bug for sure and persistent offline mode after countless re-logs is probably bugged also.

dbishop✭✭✭Still a bug and they are happy to help switch my ign around but it means leaving guilds and rejoining. Handing over GM to someone else and hope they hand it back. Too much drama so I'm sticking with the ' and if people can't pm then that's that.0
