Yes, but not a worldwide AH. There should be a separate AH for each town, as in separate listings from each other in each town that has a bank.

No it actually makes crafting more viable as it becomes a profession, not just something you do for yourself. This adds more immersion to the game and helps develop a dynamic economy !an auction house undermines the crafting system.
